Going to the match has always been part of me. When I first moved down South it absolutely killed me not going week in, week out. I used to come up to visit my Mum and rest of the family, go to the game , have a few drinks, a good old shout and sing, go into town another few after, then back to me Mam's for some scouse / some spare ribs few whiskies. Full brekko the next day then train back to London town. Then my missus got a job that paid loads more but meant she had to work Saturdays - I was stuck looking after the kids. Hardly ever getting back up to the Match or family. Recently, well over the last 2/3 years, I've been lucky enough to get upto games and to games in London, some abroad, too ( with loads of help from people on here and family) I've been able to go to the games more frequently and in addtion re-connect with my passion for going to the game and all that it entails , the meeting of friends , the experiences of new grounds , banter etc. Now my immediate family have gone, there'll be no "reason" to come to Liverpool other than go to the game ( I'll be a proper, "fee paying" OOTER ) but I'm determined to still come to the games. I must admit though. Even if I lived in and around Liverpool I'd find it very difficult to follow Liverpool home and away, week in week out, as it's so expensive and time consuming (in the family context) I admire people who do so, even envy them. Equally, I can fully understand that people who've previously been 100% ers are becoming disillusioned with all that is entailed in following The Reds. So what if this lad is going to Istanbul and not going to the game or doesn't fancy climbing the Everest that is involved in St. James's Park - I think we've all thought at some stage of our trekking around UK and Europe. What the f*** am I doing this for !! Especially, when in the "dark days" we were complete and utter garbage. A pint and post match sing song ( a la Highbury a few weeks ago ) soon sorted that out
