We went into the season with 3 CB's, two of them sick notes. Total failure of whoever holds the purse strings. Jurgen has made clear it's not him. It's an embarrassing record in our history that we've played months with our two best midfielders at CB.

Hendo and Fab in midfield instead of Shaqiri and Gini (who seems to have decided he's leaving - his heads not in it) and we batter them yesterday. Criminal mistake by the board and Jurgen to go into the season with the options we had in defence, let alone not use this transfer window. Champions of Europe and the World over the last year, no excuse for it. Matip is a true sicknote and I had huge hopes for Gomez, but his injuries make it seem like his best days are behind him. They both need replacing. VVD is our only other CB of the level of Champions.

Point of interest that afterwards they were suffering from significant deficiencies of folic acid and vitamin D, which she said was astonishing given how closely their diets are monitored. So if you're worried about the covid start taking folic acid and vit D supplements .....
