Fingers crossed Arsenal get knocked out by Villareal and also see their Premiership form suffer due to the distraction. No offence.

I'd love Arsenal to win the CL from simply a purists point of view. They are not exactly English so its hardly a nationalistic view but their outstanding football over the past few years deserves to be rewarded at the highest level. If we cant win it then for Arsenal to suceed in similar manner is a thing I wouldnt lose sleep over

As for Spurs, they are not really as good as they think they are

I want them to lose in the CL and finish 5th,just so my Arsenal supporting mates would shut up.

Plus it'd be hilarious to see them move to a new stadium Henry-less and CL-less!

with you on this

anyone who wants another English notching European cup wins up needs there heads testing

I'm having a load of work done to the house. I had three builders in yesterday, a Chav a Yid and a Gooner, giving me loads of stick about Liverpool, all good natured of course. I simply said "Where's your European Cups? You can't muster even one between the lot of you.'

They shut the feck up. :)

After a pause the Chav said 'You didn't win the last one, you didn't beat Chelsea'.

I got out a photo of me and Cobs outside the stadium.

'That's funny, I was pretty sure that's a photo of me and the lads in Turkey last May'.

Long may their cupboards remain bare.

You could of told them you support Steaua Bucharest or Red Star Belgrade, and they would still have no answer.

Think it will go down to the last game, Spurs have got the bitters away and then Utd this weekend.

'The bitters' is a United nickname for Man City in my book.

Not meaning to be pedantic or arsey mate, just one of my bug-bears! (Not that they aren't bitter, mind!)

Interesting discussion I had with my Gooner mate a couple of days ago..

Told him we'd finish above them next season, and he was certain we wouldn't. Then he mentioned that they've done better this season than we did the last (fair point). Also tried to come up with a best side based on both squads, and again lots of disagreements.

Besides Ashley Cole, Henry & Van Persie.. I couldn't think of anyone else of theirs I'd take. (Assuming Gerrard plays on the right, Momo+Xabi in the middle).

Anyone else got an opinion on a best 11 made up of Arsenal/Liverpool players?

Pepe

Finnan - Carra - Sami/Toure/Agger (be 'appy with any of them!) - Cole

Gerrard - Alonso - Momo - Kewell

Henry - Reyes

I know Reyes hasn't done the buisness on a regular enough basis for Arsenal, but I still think he's a helluva player and would gladly see him here. Wanger doesn't seem to not know what to do with him at times and hasn't as yet got anywhere near the best out of him.

It's wierd really, cos there is no one out of that Arsenal midfield I'd have in place of ours now, yet just a couple years ago, there where loads. But Pires and Freddie aren't as effective anymore. Fabregas is class, but with Momo, Xabi and Gerrard in the team - no need! And Hleb and Silva - don't really catch the eye either.

I hope Arsenal do not win it, and finish outside the top 4

Because that will guarantee they will lose Henry and all but remove them as a threat for next seasons league

Exactly. The loss of Henry (to say nothing of the decline and possible departures of Bergkamp, Pires and Ljungberg) together with a limited budget could set them back for more than just next year. It could put them out of serious contention for 2 or 3 seasons as they try and build a new team. That can only help our challenge for the title.

Scenario... over the next two games Spurs are looking nailed on for 4th, so only concern is if a*** win the Champs League and finish 5th, they get UEFA cup, and with Arsenals fixtures for the Champions League semis, and their game against Spurs coming as below...

Wed 19th - Villarreal

Sat 22nd - Tottenham Hotspur

Tue 25th - Villarreal

...I wonder if Jol send out his team to do some leg breaking... would certainly help Spurs if a*** didnt have Henry and Fabregas for the second leg away to Villareal...

If Arsenal win the CL and knock Spurs down to the Uefa then Arsenal better hope that the demolition boys don't move in on Highbury too quickly, because bet your bottom dollar that some Spurs fan will torch their new place

i cant understand anyone wanting arsenal to win the cl. we'll get more "they were lucky" and arsenal will get "daring triumph playing beautiful football with young superstars" blah blah zzzzzzzz

at the moment liverpool have won every european trophy won by a british club since the turn of the millenium and long may that continue!

feck off arsenal, blow it all, lose henry and keep out of our way next season.
