Yah this stuff was around a few weeks ago. His old man had some quotes in an Italian newspaper.

Also, the deal that saw Gonazlez go to Sociedad saw us get first option on any Sociedad youngsters, including Prieto.

Yeah I know his old man said something along the lines of "we are open to offers"...well its moved on hence my post "talks have taken place".. ;)

I think we shud give Paul Anderson chances in first team rather than bringing teenagers from other countries........

Interesting thing I heard about Redknapp recently.

Down here, there's a Meridian Southern Sport type football show on every week, and last week it was on in the background and they were interviewing Harry Redknapp because of the upcoming Chelsea - Pompey game.

The questioning turned towards Jamie as now he's at Sky Sports he's seen a lot of Chelsea this season. Harry then told the reporter, that not only has Jamie watched a lot of Chelsea from the TV Studio, he's regularly trained with the Chelsea squad to keep fit, and is good friends with Jose Mourinho.

makes sense - he is Lardy Lampard's cousin

Rafa seems keen on signing Valencia and Portuguese youth player, Yago Fernandez, according to his old man talks have taken place over a possible switch...

Scouts are monitoring Xabi Prieto, apparently someone was at the Depor Atlético game recently..

Reported on Sky on 13 Feb:

Reds eye Valencia ace

By Peter ORourke - Created on 13 Feb 2006

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is reported to be ready to raid his old club Valencia for Yago Fernandez.

Reports in Portugal claim Liverpool have expressed an interest in the 18-year-old.

Fernandez is highly regarded within the corridors of La Mestalla and is tied down until 2011.

Liverpool are believed to have watched Fernandez in action and are thought to be weighing up an offer for the youngster.

The player's father Carlos Fernandez claims that Fernandez is not happy with Valencia and that he would be interested in a move to Liverpool.

"We are going to see what Liverpool can offer in sporting terms," said Carlos Fernandez.

"If it is good for him then maybe a transfer can happen because Valencia promised him things that have not happened. They will have to speak to Valencia first."

i'll put $1million dollars on him being a CB

You'll win that bet...

I've watched him a few times playing for Portugal, and he's a very tall and commanding CB. It might be that he can also play in midfield, but central defence has been his position for Portugal.

Is there anything you can add on to this please Eskimo.

Also what are your opinions on Prieto, whenever I have seen him it seems he is great dribbling with the ball but his final delivery is not the best.
