£700M investment for Liverpool

Imagine the Scene. A massively rich man walks in - buys the club outright - buys a new Ground for £300M in cash - then spends £400M for the best players in the world (Completing two squads)

Most of our existing players are told they will finish their careers at Anfield in the Reserves and a new manager is advertised for

We then go around buying up any and all new talent to stop others getting them

And then it transpires that our new owner is a dodgy bloke.

Would we go for it and be happy?

I personally wouldn't - it might guarantee 'success' - but it's not earned. What of the stalwarts at the club - in front of and behind the scenes? What of our roots and our image? We would just be a big plaything/business for a super rich dodgy geezer.

Would people be happy with that or are you happy as things stand?

To answer the question no i wouldn't be happy. But (and i presume this is a dig at chelsea) would you have to stop suppporting your club and not enjoy any wins. It wouldn't be your fault

I'd be ecstatic

especially about the bit where we sack Rafa and bring someone even better in, whoever that might be

Erm.. No. No kind of dig for any club simply a simple question of what your club means to you.

I personally would be gutted if the above happened - I think honestly we would cease to be a club.

I find the reaction to the post disappointing. Not the post itself - but the fact that it seems you'd all be made up to find £700M had been invested in the club - I can't see how we could possibly be the same entity ever again. What we've got has been built and earned over many years by many fine fine people and unstinting support from the Liverpool fans.

All that would be erased in a matter of seconds if such a ludicrous amount came to the club.

I seem to be a tiny minority that hates all this excess money in the modern game.

Who the hell said anything of the kind?

what an almighty load of cobblers

so you're an owner? do me a favour, please take that as an insult and ban me

I'll apply for re-election once the need to rant about the last AGM has subsided in me

thank you very much

Sorry, but what is your problem? An I truly mystified by that rant

Sorry, but what is your problem? An I truly mystified by that rant

essentially my problem was that it was the first day of my diet and excercise regime and not drinking alcohol until the Benfica game, which means missing a good boozing session before a 5.15pm game on Sat

I think you will agree this justifies any kind of rant

furthermore I find the whole concept of judging the right amount of money that would sit comfortably with LFC to be totally ludicrous - I mean how much is it? is it £337M or is it £516M or is it £455M? IMO my rant may have been childish but no more than the original post
