So what exactly has he done wrong again?

 

Saying that he'd leave if he won the World Cup? Not much more he could do at international level after that.

 

Saying that he wants a lot of money? Surely most people would try and get as much as they can.

 

Saying that he'd use his influence to get Beckham to join him? Surely that is just emphasising a perceived advantage of hiring him - something we all try to do at job interviews.

 

There is a very good chance that he will be kicked out after the world cup; it's a threat for all international managers. I don't understand why anyone would criticise somebody for trying to ensure continuous employment.

 

I'm not a huge fan of SGE but I don't think he's done much wrong here.

Can't stand SGE, think he's a gobsh*te, but I just detest these stitch ups are well out of order. Research e feckin' story you lazy b*stards. Probe into these bungs, or bent referees (other country's have them, we don't even investigate them) but now, much easier to generate your own stories.

 

Also, the admission of tapping up players is probably the only wrong thing he has admitted to, yet it will be glossed over for less important issue. We knew he did it with Gerrard, he's basically offering to do it with Owen and Beckham.

The 'Arabs' just invited Eriksson out to discuss setting up acadamies to see if he would leave England.

 

 

It was Eriksson totally who brought up the idea of buying Villa.

 

 

 

What he did next was wrong. He started discussing all the players who he said he could get to go to play anywhere.

 

He said Beckham would come and play for him anywhere. He talked about aspects of Wayne Rooneys personal life and his upbringing. He told them personal things Michael Owen had told him, like he hates being at Newcastle but has never been on so much money in his life so would find it difficult to leave.

 

 

I dont give a s*** about most of it, but the last points underline the power he has in influencing players to move clubs and harks back to the Chelski tappings up of Stevie and others and MO leaving LFC. SGE is a c***.

thing is the notw has spent months planning and implementing this. and it's cost them a fortune solely to generate what really amounts to a non-story. you'd think there was nothing much else going on in the world for them to report on in their high quality publication.

They saved on the wardrobe expenses. They have a reusable sheikh outfit that they have trotted out more times than I can remember.

The rumours the surfaced a few months ago that Villa were about to be taken over - could that have come from the NOTW just for this story ?

 

I wish they'd shut that paper down. And the rest of the crap like Heat.

Don't understand why people think this is a non story.

 

Illustrates just how much SGE is prepared to abuse his position in influencing players to move from their clubs and backs up my feelings about the horrible little **** playing a part in MO moving on and in unsettling SG at the England camp, when Kenyon stayed in their hotel.

 

 

I've had little interest in England team football since those events.

well we haven't heard the las of the revelations this is probably only the start I can't see them spending 6 months on one week's worth of stories ,I expect more will come out over the next few weeks ,what they will be I don't know ,the independent ,mentioned something about gerrard but not what .I didn't read the news of the world story so I couldn't say if they have already mentioned gerrard .

I understand the Gerrard comments from Sven are along the lines of his parents being threatened by fans when he was thinking of leaving.
