Given we have a director of football, its clear its a joint decision, and not driven just by 1 party

I was saying similar earlier, the players we bought no doubt technically fit the bill but do the analysts consider their diminutive builds - especially when we have a dearth of larger build players, what they’re like when pressed, their movement (or lack of) etc. We don’t play like the teams we signed the players from and Slot seemed happy with them - apart from Chiesa who ironically is the one he’s not starting but probably really should.

Yeah was lovely that tbf. But in general you can see opposition teams just letting Konate have the ball cos he usually does nowt with it. And the fullbacks don’t seem to know what to do with a football.

Doesn’t help that we seem to leave Grav on his own and both other CMs play more or less as front men when our CBs have the ball. Based on our signings and lack of form, defensive frailties etc I’m wondering if 4-3-3 is going to be the way forward right now,

We shouldn't ignore these fine margins when we're down in the dumps after a loss. Had we finished both of those, they would have rightly been assessed as tactical genius for months.

last night Wirtz gets 2 assists to his name - a lovely weighted pass for a tap into an open goal and a lay off for Dom to thump home

but like when Grealish was feted on the opening game of the season - 2 assists, a cross and a lay off for a ball to be thumped home

 

if the guys up top do their job and bang it in the onion bag then we'll win games and the jabber about money, tactics, new signings goes away

I feel like we did do the goals thing right at the start of the season but the performances underlying the goals we were scoring got worse and caused the downturn. That’s why they need to be fixed.

I’m not disputing that scoring goals is always the best thing to do.
