More likely he, Raul and Skrtel sneaked off to some Tattoo event instead.

That is about the tenth time I've read that joke.

Hopefully being sold.

He has played 93 games in five years - as good as he is when fit, unfortunately he offers nothing on the treatment table.

Sell, get someone who can partner Carragher and compete with Skrtel for the whole season and not just the 18 games Agger does each season.

Think there is a good chance Meireles might go as well.

Arsenal in for Mertesacker, according to the Guardian... you were talking about him at one point, weren't you?

Yes I was trying to get a Mertesacker bandwagon rolling without any great success. I like him; firstly I think he's good - massive, dominating presence with loads of caps for his age (70+ caps at just 26) so very experienced.

But other factors are that Germans travel well to England generally, and also think he'd complement our existing centre halves well and add what we're missing (size / aerial dominance without the same level of footballing compromise the Greek requires). I like this Coates lad from Uruguay though as well now, he looks a strong, imposing young centre half with plenty of potential. Either of them I'd be very happy, but don't think we've been linked with Mertesacker since January.

Has anyone seen or heard of Fabio Aurelio this summer??

I saw him in Costco last Tuesday. My daughter said he looked fit but I'm not sure she was referring to his general wellbeing.

Great news everyone. So Agger is looking like he is somewhat close to being able to play football again. So naturally he is called up for the Scotland - Denmark friendly international game next Wednesday. Clearly the best idea for all parties
