Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I'll give credit to the fat-headed manc b*****d for that

No Allardyce. His view of us yesterday is flattering, but true. We are a top quality side, which makes this season all the harder to bear, even allowing for injuries and beachballs.

Tosh Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 First time this season I enjoyed watching us play. I've not seen every game by any means but "enjoyed" rather than "hoped we'd win anyway"
Hassony Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 yesterday's performance makes this season hard to fathom. If we played with half the urgency that we showed yesterday against wolves, wigan, portsmouth, stoke and sunderland away we would have at least 10 more points on the board
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 we have put in a few good shifts in the last month or so. I get the feeling it's coming together again. Let's do Benfica 2-0 on Thursday now
Swipe Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 He was laughing as the crowd sang that at him. He was a dick about the K.Jones thing I thought, but has always seemed like a nice enough fella.
yellow jumper Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 we're the reverse villa. we always look really sharp the last two months of the season. and i think it's fair criticism of the manager that he puts too many eggs in that particular basket. great to be firing towards the end of any season, less so when you've looked laboured for much of the rest of the campaign. the other thing is the all too obvious drop-off in the quality of second and third choice players when they are needed to come in.
5InIstanbul Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I've met Steve Bruce and had a pretty long chat with him, couple of years ago. Despite his fierce rivalry with us for so long, he has nothing but the highest respect and regard for our club. He also said our fans were top class. He also added that despite all that he enjoyed trying to get one over on us and obviously hopes the mancs do likewise which is fair enough. I found him to be a thoroughly decent fella.

dorgie Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Remember the camera cutting to Robbie Keane explaining to Dossena on the bench (yeah, believe it or not that's where they were sat) last season what the fat head song was all about
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 wasn't that something ridiculous like the first time Rafa's beaten Bruce in the League?
Epic Swindle Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 elzhar and ngog coming off the bench yesterday. holy cow that's some drop off. how the f*** is el zhar getting on anyway? what is the point? I don't think there is one. He's never going to be anything more than a bit part fringe player and I'd rather give those opportunites to the likes of Pacheco or Amoo. Rafa seems to rate him a lot though. I thought Bruce was alright until he had a go at Rafa on the line at their place. Just no need for it at all.
Conrad Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 i think bruce comes across as alright actually, always has he does have a big fat head though
Cobs Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 wasn't that something ridiculous like the first time Rafa's beaten Bruce in the League? deffo beat him as Wigan manager
Kite Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 If we played with half the urgency that we showed yesterday against wolves, wigan, portsmouth, stoke and sunderland away we would have at least 10 more points on the board Yes, Rafa's a genius for selecting urgency yesterday.
Hassony Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Yes, Rafa's a genius for selecting urgency yesterday. I think someone just pointed out to him the screen to change the team's mentality on FM2010
Leo No.8 Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 (edited) I think Bruce is alright, nothing against him at all. He's defintely one of the fairer, more balanced managers in his post match assessments. Compare what he has to say about decisions and his team post match to Arsene Wenger, a more arrogant, pompous, deluded individual you'll never find. I do think he has an old school respect for Liverpool Football Club as an enemy as well, in the same way Ferguson has. The only things to hold against him are playing for the Mancs and getting one over us consistently as a manager, but you're pretty small minded for hating someone purely on the basis of either if they conduct themselves in a fair manner. Those comments are very magnanimous and he can obviously take a joke. Edited March 29, 2010 by Leo No.8
Mike Posted March 29, 2010 Author Posted March 29, 2010 deffo beat him as Wigan manager beat him 7 nil when he was at birmingham in the fa cup
Cobs Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 beat him 7 nil when he was at birmingham in the fa cup aye - assumed that's why Macca said the League great night, that
aka Dus Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Hang on, Steve Bruce is a whinging Manc pig and no amount of accepting in 'good grace' when he gets a hiding is going to change that. We'll see what you all think of him if we go up there next season and he does another of his 1-0s and his fat head obscures the entire MOTD back board while he's crowing in the after match interview.

I think he's ok generally, but yeah he was a t*** about the beachball thing and the K.Jones thing.
