I need to get a player looked at and I want to be sure his information gets in front of the right person.

Cheers.

And this is how the grooming begins...

I look after These Motley Crews with quite a few academy lads on the books so do have a few contacts but it depends on the lads age and if he already plays for a team (if he is THAT good and playing locally i'd be surprised if he hadn't been called in already tbh)

17 years old. American kid with an EU passport. Getting come serious interest in Italy but I'd love to get him in with us.

He's been playing in New York Tony. He already has a full scholarship to play at an American university but he wants to play professionally. He's currently getting looked at by Juventus, Chievo, Parma and Aston Villa.

I'd appreciate any guidance you can give me.

Cheers.

My mates nephew (a goalkeeper) was poached by Derby County from Forest at the age of 8 and banned from playing for his school and Cubs team, took him a while to get to grips with not being able to just play football all the time but he loves it now and is doing really well.

Although that vid is just a sample which showed he can certainly be brave and is well built, not one of the players from any of the "OFFENSE" seemed to get stuck in in the "SCOREZONE" with any degree. Still seems fearless though.

I agree totally mate, it's parents who are approached after matches what can you do.

what gets me most is when i was their age i could go the park with my mates and PLAY FOOTY ALL DAY, you can't let kids of that age out on their own in the front garden these days, never mind to local parks, so how are kids meant to learn to play footie for enjoyment and to express themselves on the pitch when everything is coached into them from the age of 5 upwards? It's mad but it's the way things are now i guess, i started my teams to just let them have fun and if they win the odd game here and there then great but if not then meh ;P

I'm astounded at how seriously some adults treat kids footie even at under 7's there is a 'win at all costs' mentality, it's really uncomfortable some of the parental pressure you see being put on some kids and makes me wonder why i bother sometimes (a lot of the time at the moment if i'm honest). :(

Never a truer word said!

Could someone also put a word in for me, but I'd like to bypass the academy and go straight to the first team. I'm 35 and I can play right back or the Xabi Alonso role.

My physique is like a young Peter Kay.

Hey...HEY! There's a queue here mate!

Its the potential rewards that are making that side of thing worse. Without going all jumpers for goalposts etc, that is exactly how we used to play, just spend hours playing footy. Its a shame that that avenue isn't open to kids that much these days. My mates nephew has had his Grandad battering a ball at him for hours in the garden and its turned him into a really good shotstopper already, with decent coaching they have got high hopes for him at Derby, height may be an issue but he is looking like he should go past 6 foot.

I know, it's bloody terrible, they should be left to enjoy themselves, a level one coach is all you need at that age and the chances of them progressing are miniscule. I've also seen loads of kids were pretty crap aged 10 turned into good players, you can't make a call on an 8 year old unless it's a Maradonna or a Messi, it's ridiculous and can be harmful too in my opinion.

Thankfully, this kid has been brought up really well and is always belting the ball around with his mates. He's a cracking baseball player too.
