Interesting piece in the Express today interviewing Morgan. The more I read about our financial problems, the more I want to castigate Moores. Reminds us that we haven't just been in debt since the Yanks took over. By the way, that Saudi Prince is with Gillett for the Wolves game. Seems he has just said again on TV that he is very interested in taking Gillett's 50 percent and Hicks has given the go ahead.

Maybe he should have tried offering within £2k of the true value of each share?

It wasn't a offer for the shares though was it, it was a new share issue he was going to underwrite. Indeed a cheaper way to increase stake than buying everyone out, but every shareholder would have been free to put in and buy new shares under the same terms. I'm not saying it was the right thing for the club, but it's something you do when a business needs funds and goes to the shareholders for them. The real reason Moores didn't want to deal with Morgan was because he didn't like him.

how many mentions of Princess Diana has todays daily express got in Sniffer?

Thank God they've finished with that. They now concentrate on splashing out news which has been reported about five days earlier. Makes them look ridiculous.

I can't remember the details now but this interview mentions 70 mln pound debt when he looked at the books. Following that, he dropped his offer to near £2,700 per share from about £3,250 per share (do remember that). Says Purslow is a good man, he was helping Morgan at the time (didn't know that) and reckons Liverpool would be debt-free now if he had taken over. Still a Liverpool fan at heart - his son is called Red and both his kids will be mascots this weekend. You are right about Moores dislike. Morgan is still complaining about when he took five percent of the shares and went to a game with an important business guest and got refused admittance by Moores.

Is there any reliable source for this? i.e Hicks is no longer blocking the sale?

There's no reliable sources for anything. Even if I heard Hicks say it, I wouldn't believe it.

I can't really see how it would improve things anyway. We'd still have two owners with a 50-50 split, one isn't going to invest without the other investing as well and it's clear Hicks has no intention of putting his hand in his pocket.
