So far our record this season reads as follows:

Won:

Stoke at home

Bolton away

Burnley at home

Debrecen at home (CL)

West Ham away

Leeds away (CC)

Hull at home

Lost:

Spurs away

Villa at home

Fiorentina away (CL)

Chelsea away

Sunderland away

In other words we've beaten the dross and lost to any half decent team.

I repeat, we've lost each and every time this season when we've faced a team that isn't expected to fight relegation (and Debrecen, who fall into the same category).

I'm afraid I'll need more than a bit of positive spin to still believe that this will turn into a good season.

f*** me, I never expected us to be this bad even after the massively disappointing summer.

:(

Anyone want to try and do a "Phil Brown" and talk me down from this bridge?

Jump. I'm tempted to do so aswell.

If 4th place was on offer now I would take it because it doesn't look well for us at the moment.

Our season is over as far as the league is concerned.... for now.

I say that cause you never know how things pan out but we'd need to go on an almighty run of wins without draws to get back into it... that plus the fact that the other top teams will lose more points this season ... a record low points league win is certainly a possibility if you ask me.

but ya..... very disapointed after today...

i think the most important thing this season is to get rid of the f***ing cretins that own this club before we sink too far....when that is done then we can start worrying about results

We have lost the ability to draw.

If Aquilani hits the ground running and the defence steps up, then i think there's a chance of a big winning streak. f*** the draws - they cost us last year.

Hope yer right.

Still, no better game to start a run on than at home against utd......

7 points behind the leaders in October is probably too much, no matter how you look at it.

If I were clutching for straws, I'd say beat Man Utd on Sunday and we're only 4 behind them and there's almost 30 games left to play.

But I think I'll rather jump just to end the speculation if nothing else.

It was an oblique, and admittedly lame, gag.

They really f***ing did didn't they, I had it on in the background and Bolton could have won that 5 or 6-2. They battered them for the last half hour

United scraped past Bolton at home today.

Although they'll raise their game versus us like every single team does.

They look worse than us but when you have insane amounts of luck and refs on your side I guess it doesnt matter. We'll beat them next week though.

Rafa's probably a dead man walking if we lose it as well.

You can't mean that, surely? Dead man walking with the fans? Or the owners - don't think they'd dare.

Anyway, agree with the comment about this season being secondary to getting rid of those 2 c**** at the top, but honestly, I think they won't be moved that quickly, and to a certain extent it'll be on their terms, i.e. they'll sell for a profit.

Obviously we're saving all the good stuff for later in the season when it matters... but we have played a lot of games away, without Aquillani or Mascherano (either in body or sometimes in spirit) and haven't had much luck at all.

*shrug*

It WILL get better. And anyone saying it's Rafa's fault, have a word with yerself!
