patsy Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 LIVERPOOL will tour the Far East this summer as part of their preparations for the 2009/10 season. The Reds have agreed a nine day trip which will include matches in Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore. Tour dates will be July 17 to 26, but details of opposition have not yet been finalised. The Reds have a huge fan base in that part of the world. In the summer of 2007 they undertook a highly successful tour to China, which included games against South China and Portsmouth. From the Echo

Sion Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 So we're playing the opening game at Espanyol's new ground! that's quite a decent friendly and a great excuse for a trip!
carrafan Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Riera's old club! He might be booed though, they didnt part in the best of circumstances.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Middle East tour during the Summer of no International Tournament - seems to be the balance the club is trying to strike. After all, they cant ignore the region.

After all, they cant ignore the region. No strictly true. Between 14-28th of June, the confederation cup is taking place. Spain, Italy and Brazil are taking place and they are all likely to play 4-5 matches at least. We have 5 Spanish, 2 Brazilians, and 1 Italian who could all feature this summer and therefore may not have a decent break at all if we have a long pre-season and could seriously and adversely effect their performance and fitness next season.

Argentina are there as well I think
