Bootle Buck Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Was it because of his incident with the seven iron? We got him at such a good price , he was a boyhood red and all and yet we seemed to get shut of him so quickly. He has looked really good recently and looked better than the likes of Benny, Keane and Babel who are still here.
New York Red Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Because he is a total tw*t. And rubbish too.
Hassony Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Because he is a total tw*t. And rubbish too. But look how well he has played for West ham, 40 goals in two seasons is not to be laughed at!

Tosh Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 They are away at a training camp and I bet there's a golf course nearby
Magic8Ball Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 He signed for City in the afternoon and Robinho walked out in the evening....ha ha
Noel Street Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 flores morres corres? give me a hand here people i cant remember his name
Billy Dane Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Bellamy is a big fish in a small pond type of player. He might have loved the club but I don't think he could handle playing for a big club. Unfortunately Keane is shaping up to be the same, I hope he proves otherwise.
pawlu Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 The right question to ask is: how much of a sell on clause did we put in when he was sold to West Ham? Or, rather, let's hope that we put in a sell on clause.

_00_deathscar Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I think the point here is we HAVE TO STOP SIGNING BOYHOOD REDS.
fred milne Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I think the point here is we HAVE TO STOP SIGNING BOYHOOD REDS.It always bugs me when its brought up. Childhood allegiances are an irrelevance as the likes of Rush, Fowler, Carragher etc have shown.
Billy Talbot Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Keane is the same - TBH would have preferred getting Barry AND keeping Alonso - that would have meant Gerrard could play as Torres's partner and we'd still have cover in CM Thought the same at the time. AND can see that Keane would have fitted better with Barry in the side too.
Hassony Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I think the point here is we HAVE TO STOP SIGNING BOYHOOD REDS. From Britain/ Ireland the ones from abroad are ok (Torres, Berger)
Magic8Ball Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Thought the same at the time. AND can see that Keane would have fitted better with Barry in the side too.interesting, can you explain that ? Maybe we'll have to keep Keane and will be in for Barry again next season ?
Jacks Jackie Jackson Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Because he is a total tw*t. And rubbish too. I don't know about the first part but you are wrong on the second. He was magnificent for us away at Camp Nou and I deliberately watched him when West Ham came to Anfield recently and he is still impressive. He's like a fizzy bottle of pop that you shake and shake and shake and finally take the lid off; efferevescent and exciting. Of course, there's the mess you have to clean up afterwards but it was good at the time.
Hassony Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 interesting, can you explain that ? Maybe we'll have to keep Keane and will be in for Barry again next season ? I don't quite get that to be honest, how would Barry make Keane look better? Lets Buy Kaka, Messi and ronaldinho, they will make Keane look better!
ManxRed Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 (edited) From Britain/ Ireland / Australia the ones from abroad are ok (Torres, Berger) Fixed that for you! Edited January 20, 2009 by ManxRed
Hassony Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Fixed that for you! yeah, forgot about him, can't wait until he is fit again, it will be like signing a new player
Case Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 I called Keabe the 'poor man's Craig Bellamy' before the season started and got slated on here. It's true. He IS. At least bellamy has got balls. he's MILES better than Keane.

Knox_Harrington Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 If you got slated its because its a crap comparisonHe plays nothing like Bellamy.Yep. Woeful comparison. He's a poor man's David Speedie.
johngibo YPC Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Yep. Woeful comparison. He's a poor man's David Speedie. Poor mans Paul Walsh
