Isn't Ian Ayres in charge of this sort of thing?

I saw an article a while back about them trying to copyright the logo, and the council was up in arms about it.Apparently it was primarily a measure to stop rip-off merchandising.

They tried to copyright the Liverbird. The Council kicked off saying that the Liverbird belonged to the city and not the club. The club said they were only trying to copyright the LFC version of the liverbird but agreed to withdraw the application anyway

What do they actually sell with the club logo on it?

Was wondering the same. Only things I can think of are t-shirts with pictures of players wearing the kit? Can't be that kind of thing can it?

It is the 'we're not English we are scouse' stuff

Reds who i have come across are the ones talking about it in the RAWK thread, so i don't think its fabricated. I guess we will hear the full story in the next few days

that was the first thing that came to my mind too - perhaps it has to do with the application itself, ie no-one else can currently be using the logo if it is to be copyrighted/trademarked (which is the "nice" interpretation - the nasty one being Ayres simply doesn't want anyone else using the logo for "commercial" gain).

They have withdrawn the application

which seems to suggest they actually have no right to stop HJC selling stuff with the liverbird on

They could stop HJC selling stuff with the clubcrest on i guess

Was mentioned somewhere else that the HJC were not approached about this. Someone claims some stall sellers were approached and the HJC removed the items 'just in case'

Thats on RAOTL, just seen it

As i said before i guess the truth will come out over the next few days

I bought the nipper a sweatshirt in Bloomingdales last week

Lovely rip off of the club crest on it - bird and flames. I'd put money on no-one having a clue what they were selling. The top was more music than football related - Bloomies are on a Beatles kick...

This is f***ing vile if true, can the club get any lower? Also, theres beauts on RAWK who dont even know what the HJC is. Frightening.

Hardly ideal but, at the same time, everyone had to find out for the first time once.

One of the people saying it is 25.

I've met people older than that who didn't know.

I've also met people older than that who didn't care.

You're never to old to find out about it and take it all on board.

Theres no excuse for not knowing at that age if you claim to be a Liverpool supporter, a 13 year old Norwegian or something then yeah though i'd like to think they'd maybe have family who could tell them but a proper adult not knowing? Utter c****.

I'm 25 & I live in Brighton, I found out about the HJC probably in my late teens, largely by accident. How much do you think people talk about Hillsborough down here? I wasn't a member of a proper forum until 2004/05 and the club didn't even have a proper website until 2001(ish). It's not that unbelievable that he could have missed out on ever hearing about the HJC. If nobody has ever told him about it, how would he know? It'd be great if more people knew and there are plenty of ways for people to find out more about both Hillsborough and the HJC now but that doesn't mean we shouldn't inform people about it to begin with.

I don't look on it as "what took you so f***ing long?" I see it more as "good to have another supporter on board."

He didn't know before. He knows now. If he takes the campaign to heart then the HJC have gained another supporter. If he isn't interested then you can call him whatever you want.

Well he's posting on an internet forum so given all the HJC stuff that gets posted on the forums, what happens on forums on April 15th its in my opinon inexcusable not to know.

I agree with Eric - unless you know this guys posting habits, how recent a fan he is, where he lives and how long and often he frequents a forum you're going OTT.
