Just breaking on BBC Sport.

Quite surprised, hes been good but I didnt think outstanding. Actually thought Iniesta had a better tournament than him.

He was my pick for best player. His passing is phenomenal. He hardly ever loses the ball or mistakes a pass.

One of my favorite players.

Well that's bizarre. I was totally underwhelmed by him. Several Spanish players and a few non I would have had above him

No way. Good player, but I thought Iniesta did better in an unfamiliar role (though getting more familiar for him when playing for Spain!), Senna was superb, Villa's goals were the catalyst for them getting through and Cassilas was superb throughout.

Senna was the best player for me too.

I also thought Marchena was excellent throughout the tournament.

I like Xavi as a player but he never really started playing his best till the semi-final.

I'd have gone for Senna.

Senna for me too. Was class all the way through. He's been my pick for several rounds now.

Xavi is class and that midfield is a joy to watch, but bit surprised by that.

Thought Iniesta got better and better, although was a little wasteful and hesitant at times. He's a great player.

Be interesting to see if Senna moves. Been linked to Spurs and the mancs in the past

Senna for me to, just ahead of Iniesta - phil is right too - Ramos was bmuch more like the Ramos of Seville days. Marchena was also very solid at the back.

Well deserved, Xavi is an absolute outstanding player, his vision and passing is second to noone.

Proof positive that Kaizer is right. Or wrong. Or right. Or wrong.

I agree, and the same goes for Iniesta. Senna was way more consistant but a holding midfielder would never get it unless they're among the goals. Villa was very unlucky too,he was great in every game he played.

Thought he had a pretty decent tournament but definitely didn't have him as player of the tournament.

I thought Sergio Ramos was excellent as well.

Good going forward. A bombscare defending.

Well deserved. Hardly put a pass wrong throughout the tournament. I have Senna as a close number two. Iniesta started slow but was immense in the semi and the final.

Xavi was their best player, he's the one who makes them tick. Russia's pressing game was completely nullified by his ability to always find the right pass. He didn't have the best of games against Italy and he should have used the longer pass sometimes, but in fairness Italy defended exceptionally well, particularly Chiellini.

Xavi's game is suited perfectly to his position on the pitch. Iniesta, however, plays a similar game to Xavi, but does it in wider areas where there's more space on the pitch, making it easier to find the pass. I also think that as Iniesta plays further up the pitch, he should be a little more direct. While he's lovely to watch, he can be rather ineffective at times, a bit like Hleb. For instance, against Man U in this season's Champions League semi finals, he received so much of the ball in attacking positions and not once did he look threatening. Still a great player though, just a minor flaw.
