Great comment from Tyldesleyat the start of the game regarding fans bringing their own flags (Its a shame chelsea fans weren't listening in!) :cooler:

Enjoyed their coverage tonight, Townsend is a much better analyst than Gray is while Steve Ryder doesnt resort to the moronic comments of Keys.

He's a manc but he understands and respects the tradition that Liverpool stand for , he knows what we stand for and is one of the very few who I can stand to listen to. I quite like ITV in general to be honest.

Tyldesley must have mentioned Thomas '89 about 10 times. He was dying for a late arsenal winner, and almost got his wish.

Keys thinks he's an expert. Ryder is a presenter

They both have huuuuge heads on small shoulders.

I actually don't mind ITV's European coverage much. It doesn't matter which English team they have on they always big them up (which is what you'd expect) and the commentators (even balmy night) do get quite excited which is always nice.

Of course I think a part of that may well be that they've broadcast some of our biggest European games in recent years and I look back on them fondly.

Did I hear Beglin attempt a pun about snow on the runway?, seemed a little close to the nice Munich ditty and almost like he meant it.

Don't be stupid, it was a dig at Gillett about not being able to fly over last week due to snow in Colorado.

one comment in the build up that i thought was a bit OTT was that Arsenal's win in milan was the best ever by an english team in europe! (forgetting that we beat the best team in italy at the same stadium only a week later, barca away last season, united's win over juventus was another one)

Course I know that, how could you miss it. I was referring to the way Beglin phrased the comment, stank of a double entenre to me and his tone seemed almost guilty when he said it,

I think Beglin realised after he said it that it could be taken the wrong way and certainly not the way he intended it.

I don't mind the ITV coverage except the guy who was doing the the Chelsea game commentary (from what I gathered from thr highlights) - his voice winds me up no end.

Yeah maybe, just sounded out of place is all. I don't think he would ever intend it, nor would it be cool if he did.

No chance he meant it.

The fact the other commentator didn't say anything for a moment or two afterwards gave it the air of an awkward silence.

It was funny as f*** before that when it was said neither Gillett or Hicks are here tonight and then the camera zoomed in on Gillet - do your research ITV - it was on the icliverpool website that Gillet was going :)

I thought the introduction to the match was excellent (when the camera was panning around the Kop and the commentator was singing our praises).

I thought the commentary was pathetic. They would have loved the a*** to have gone through - even, or should I say especially, that c*** Beglin. References to Smith and Thomas, being 'sad' for Arsenal, how they played us off the park in the first 30 minutes .... cue stat ..... Pool 51% of ball Arsenal 49% of ball..... stunned silence. LMFLO.

I don't usually get into the biased commentary/pundit lark but tonight took the fekkin biscuit. Made it all the better mind!!!
