And Mo has scored 7 goals and got 3 assists in 7 games. Even allowing for it being a weaker league, he's clearly still a very decent player and we booted him out for no fee - still can't believe that.

Well yeah I'm being optimistic there. I just think Bayern will still fancy him and maybe Alonso at Chelsea so the price might creep up...

It says something that even on the Sky Sports coverage - and they generally always protect the "Premier League brand" - all the pundits were saying this season is tainted and a bit pointless. I've no doubt that they'll all get a briefing and they'll be more positive going forward. But it summed up what a mess this whole process has made of the league.

We need two full backs, at least one midfielder - 2 if Mac Allister is let go and I still think we need another striker or a striker/winger (right sided) hybrid. We should also deffo buy Araujo - he looks great. That's an absolute ton of money. We might be lucky and get around £70m for Wirtz.

I think a lot of it is confidence - he hasn't just forgotten how to pass the ball 10 yds. Jurgen absolutely loves Wirtz and so I'd held some hope he'd get him feeling better and firing again.

Hold on wasn't it proven that referees there were being bribed?

If 3 weeks with Jurgen hasn't given him a boost then it's hard to see what will. Scoring a few goals might help his confidence but he doesn't look like he's going to do that on current form.

Yeah there was an element of luck with their first. Their second and third were good play. We looked goosed by then tho. We brought on Frimpong who was all over the place. Again. Doku was very good. Being able to bring on a player of that quality is handy...and we know why they're able to do that.

He does look so much better than last season.

Yeah I'm now starting to think selling him is a fair option. Bayern will probably still pay a decent amount for him. No chance we get Olise mind.

We expended a lot of energy in the first 60 minutes so it was doubly tough to cope with 10 men after the dodgy red. We did seem to lose our heads tho and should've tried to be more compact and solid for a bit.

He looked really up for it and was playing very well - breezed away from his opponents a number of times.

Wasn't Araujo booked for gesturing a yellow card, which a City player also did but got nothing obviously.

Yeah even with our first choice team this was going to be really tough given our respective form. Probably need someone to have a bit of a worldie - Wirtz, Koumas... Chiesa Is Szoboszlai available?

Roy Keane and Carragher pretty good on this on the Sky build up. You'll be shocked to hear that Mica Richards wants us all to wait until the appeal(s) process is complete...whenever that might be...before we call City guilty.

Yeah it's a real clanger so soon into his tenure. Loses him a lot of early momentum and it might be hard to row back from. I reckon there's still plenty more to come out about his dealings with the City owners too.

Bada bing

Perfect, he should be fit and ready to play for us. Unless he got injured in transit...

Can UEFA just say they don't want them in the CL tho? UEFA must still be a bit peed off with the way they were out manoeuvred last time.

So is Jacquet going to be able to play at the weekend?
