Well, what do you think?

I think they are probably equally bad as each other.

Posted

in some ways Momo is worse.

with Diao, you expected nothing and got nothing, he was utter rubbish.

with Momo, we were expecting great things after his early games and we were all anticipating that he would go to a higher level and turn out to be a class player. what we see today is a player who finds it hard to make a pass to a player in a Liverpool shirt, is caught in possession way too easily and adds nothing to the side other than his ability to chase and harry opposition players.

has he been the same player since that eye injury? i don't think so.

he is compared to Mascherano when it comes to his style of play, and at ther moment he is nowhere close to Mascherano interms of what he adds to the side.

Momo played reasonably well tonight, especially we were down to 10. Full of effort and his passing was better if not brilliant.

This modern trend for having a scapegoat is just appalling.

Momo was great to-night, especially, as Case says, when our backs were to the wall.

Even before that he was keeping it simple most of the time.

Riiiiidiculous thread.

The trend for accepting average performances is why we've been s**** in the league for years.

Momo "did his job" tonight kind of attitude.

We are Liverpool FC, we should have more than just two world class players (Gerrard, Torres) and a handful of other quality players (Reina, Xabi, Carra, Masch and one or two more).

We dont have enough match winners, and we're carrying too many passengers. The likes of Kuyt, Voronin, Sissoko sum this up for me, we shouldnt accept this level. We should be aiming higher.

You're a clueless idiot.

Well you did ask.

Youre a charming fella in real life, Im sure.

Momo can run, harrass players and doesn't take 4 minutes to turn round.

However, it doesn't make him a footballer.

Diao is clearly Ali Dia with a poorly disguised name.

Dont think Momo was that good tonight although compared to recent games it probably was an improvement and he did play well when we had 10 men. But before that I lost times of the number of times he fell over and left us exposed, and he tackled one of our players at least twice and seemed to be getting in the way a lot.

We're probably the only team in the PL that will improve because of the African Nations

I'll just echo what i said in another thread. He'll have to move on, because he's simply not up to the role that's being asked of him. I love the guy and it hurts seeing him play so badly as it's clear he's no confidence in himself anymore, which is a huge flaw in Benitez's management skills. He doesn't like to put his arm around players, but sometimes that's what they need.

But the big thing for me, is that Benitez hasn't spotted that Momo just isn't a CM. He'd make a great CB with the right coaching and enough time put into it. It's just damn right wrong to expect him to be a creator in any sense of the word. Let him sit, let him make the simple pass, let him break up the play, which he can do.

He doesn't really read the game that well though, that's what really affects his distribution, seeing what going on around him. That and he's not very disciplined positionally and I just dont see that. He can play CM fine for a side that regularly plays on the back foot with 30%-40% of the ball.

But people always say, 'that's what Rafa wants him to do, harry the opposition in their own half'. He's never been asked to sit, so how do we know he can't do it? Carra was hardly the greatest of defenders at Momo's age, and i would definitely say that Momo has more going for him than Carra had back then. It's just a thought. I see so much potential there, just not at what he's been asked to do. Which is a shame.

Momo Sissoko, Worse than Diao?

Probably not.

Momo Sissoko, worse than Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano and Lucas?

Most definitely, yes.

As bad a player as i think he is i dont believe he was that bad last night. But that's the only kind of game he ever plays anything like ok in nowadays. The backs against the wall away game when we're sitting in. His technique isn't suddenly going to fourish and he isn't going to become the player we thought he was after his first two seasons.

Why clubs like Juve and Inter are chasing him is anyone's guess but we shouldn't pass up the opportunity to get some decent money for him. We made that mistake in the summer.
