Has anybody ever looked at how long it takes for our lads to get the ball back for a throw-in or a goal kick, they seem to spend ages running after it themselves?

Obviously it's not a huge deal, but it's a bit annoying when it takes ages for Arbeloa to take a throw-in.How many ball-boys do we have?

It wastes time, and it's irritating when people in the crowd can't seem to muster the simple action of throwing a ball back.

They have them at most European clubs. It hampers a quick throw being taken, and allows the opposition to get organised.

We are the opposition, though. Half of the time.

They very often have tracks around the pitch so they need them. Very few of the foreign stadiums have stands as close to the field as in Britain also even if there is no track.

It annoys me that we don't have them.

The Anfield pitch ends pretty much at the stands, where the hell would you squeeze in the ballboys?

All the stadiums where you have ballboys also have an extensive space between the playing field and the live studio audience.

Anyways I'd rather have fit ballgirls myself.

I was at Watford the other week, where there's not a lot of room, and they managed it.

Probably wouldn't be allowed as they'd get in the way of the advertising hoardings.

Ah,but the home ballboys never give the ball back quickly to the opposition.

Unlike home fans/home players (with whom the ball ends up unless it goes towards one of the opposition)?

Club funds can't stretch to ball boys, Rafa had lined up a few on a Bosman from Tranmere but Parry was on a goalkeeping course and Everton snapped them up.

we should hold a protest at the bolton match for this. I propose a march from the Sandon to the Oakie Stopping at every chippy along the way.

Apparently we were all set to get them but Hicks flew in and made them all cry cause he's such a prick and they all quit.

Oh, and the correct terminology is Spherical Return Persons.

"As always we are concentrating on throwing the ball into play"
