I think that Sami is affecting Carra, though him not knocking the ball out for a corner for their 1st goal was really uncarralike.

 

Agger has pace and can use the ball. It's all alot more controlled when him and Alonso play,

It's obvious the knock-on affect of playing both Sami and Carra is disasterous. The midfield have to sit so deep because of their lack of pace, and just leaves nothingness in the final third. Add to that their distribution is just terrible, hoof hoof hoof.

If i remember righty...we didn't Agger for about 6 months and he came into the Community shield and was excellent.

Arbeloa at centre half for me if he's fit and Agger isn't; he played there almost exclusively for Deportivo and his slight lack of height shouldn't be a factor despite Adebayor being tall as they so rarely go direct.

 

Sami even in his prime struggled against the slick Arsenal style, and this season is the first time as one of his greatest admirers and staunchest defenders even I have to admit he is starting to look a little off the pace.
