With Arsenal crumbling, should we buy some of their youngsters?

With Dein and Henry gone and Wenger going next year, I can sense the Arsenal camp crumbling.

Who should we buy from their squad? Hleb? Fabregas?

Arsenal are not crumbling just yet, ffs. They aren't just gonna put their players for sale for the heck of it.

They might just bring in a good manager to replace wenger.

They are very far from done.

I think they are the clear front runners to sign Owen.

I'll bet they have other funds to spend.

Addebayor/Owen/Van Persie up front?

Fabregas and Gilberto in the middle?

Lots of good youngsters.

They're fine.

While Henry is a fantastic player I don't think his loss is a huge problem. They have Van Persie and Addebayor who are more than capable of getting them goals.

Arsenal's problem is in midfield, like us they have a midfield who seriously lack goals. Hleb,Fabregas,Rosicky are all pretty toothless in front of goal and imo Wenger has not replaced Pires and to a certain extent Ljunberg.

I dont think they're going to be title challengers next year unless they make a huge (ie Eto'o or someone) signing to replace Henry.

They'll more likely get a decent replacement and finish 4th again. Hardly crumbling nonetheless.

For the sake of debate, who are their players we might have an interest in?

Fabregas - great, but we have a cm surplus

Eboue - good going forwards, has pace so can make up for defensive errors

Clichy - see Eboue

Hleb - no good for me. Doesn't fit the role of winger, nor creative mid. Similar problems with Rosicky (although he has more quality)

Walcott, Van Persie - Arsenal wont let them go at all.

In reality, there isnt really that much on the cards even.

Eboue is quick and a good attacking force, but that's it.

Hleb is w***.

In fact, I wouldn't take any of their players off them now.

But to say they're falling apart is just silly.

Remember the doom and gloom people forcast when Arsenal sold Anelka? or when the sold Petit and Overmars? They haven't even missed Vierra particularly.

Wenger has a knack of selling players for good money just at the right time. They'll buy a good replacement, and I think have as much chance of challenging for the league as we do.

It's not like loads of their players are likely to leave any time soon (although maybe if Wenger leaves after a year...) but since it would never happen anyway, Clichy would ge a good signing.

They won't sell a lot of players, but there are three youngsters who could be possible to sign.

Djorou, Gilbert and Traoré.

Gilbert is more suited for a club such as Everton, but the other two would be good squad players.

How is Hleb a "youngster"? The myth of the Arsenal "youngsters" trundles on. Would these be the same youngsters that were not good enough to win the Youth Cup in the last 2 years when a certain other team was winning it and led to Arsenal struggling to get 4th place in the league in the same period? Someone further down is including bloody Gilberto Silva in this category!!!!!!!!!????????

What are we going to do with Fabregas?

Our CM would look like this

-------Fabregas--------

---Alonso Gerrard-----

Mascerano --- Sissoko

with a team like this

------Torres --Kuyt-----

--------Fabregas--------

----Alonso Gerrard-----

--Mascerano -- Sissoko-

Riise--Agger-Carra--Finnan

with no goalkeeper or wingers, because we'd have too many players and the best part of £15M-£20M spent on another CM

I suspect Arsenal will be just fine, and by that, I mean 4th. I don't think they are crumbling.

As for young players I'd have from them, I'd go for Eboue, Clichy and Traore. Not sure if Toure is classed as a youngster, but he'd be a great replacement for Sami too.

Still, none of this will happen. I suspect they will sign Owen and Babel with the Henry money, and it will be business as usual next season, though they will finish 4th.

From this years Deliotte and Touche report, Arsenal pay nearly 20mill (83mill) a year more per year than us in wages and only 2mill less than the Mancs. The Henry sale doesn't even cover that. They are looking to refinance their debt and I suspect are in a worse state than most folk realise.

Wenger best buys of recent years are being used out of position, particularly Hleb and Rosicky, who were terrific playmakers before going to the Gunners, but aren't flourishing.

I'm not saying they are done for, but it would be the start of a downward spiral if they didn't make the CL each of the next three or four years; don't forgot Platini is trying to take one of our places away as well. They could have done with replacing Wenger before now rather than have him stick around for what his players know will be a final year.

Eboue is 24

Toure is a lot older than Agger - 26 I think

Glichy isn't exactly a baby either - 22 in July

Praise be their youngsters

Their youngsters - I'd have Denlison, Fran Merida and Walcott.

No chance though, and suggesting Arsenal will crumble is embarrassing form.

since then, i believe we will find that there turnover has now doubled since the new stadium was built.
