Is it just me that's not yet excited?

It's weird this, isn't it? We're in the final of the European Cup. Again.

I feel odd about it. It's perhaps the greatest prize in football and we're on the brink of it. Again.

Do you know what I mean?

I'm numb!

I am over the moon, thougt we had no chance last week, but started getting more confident when chelsea blew their league hopes on saturday, and now i think we are favourite to win number 6

COME ON

Posted

Don't worry. Just wait till tomorrow evening, the result will have sunk in and you'll be watching Milan - ManU.

Either a repeat of 2005 or Liverpool - Mancs:

The numbness won't last!

Posted

Ahhh, mate - don't worry about it :D

Wait until you wake up tomorrow morning - it's gonna be a beautiful, beautiful day.

Incredible, isn't it?

Awww it's amazing. That was one of the most horrible games I've ever watched. :D The fact that a Chelsea goal would have most likely finished us made it worse as the clock ran down. The longer the game went on the less I felt they deserved it and the more gutting it would have been if they scored some crappy deflected goal. After Kuyt's goal wasn't given I sank a little.

When it came to pennos I was nervous but felt "feck it either way we've done well"

Amazing to be back in another final. Dreading the mancs but if we get them, on the night it'll be magic again.....i think. :)

Absolutely. Going to buy loads of papers tomorrow, soak it up and then chill and watch the other two battle for the right to play us.

It is just you.. Imagine yourself supporting Chelski...!! you'll soon get excited. !!

This is MAGICAL.. can't sleep !!

Just explained to my son aged 15 years what a god given privilege it is to support Liverpool.. the bluenoses have never and will never experience this.

Lovely...lovely..lovely .. thanks lads of LIVERPOOL F.C. you f*ckni' heroes..

I'm loving that we're there before the other finalist is decided. I can sit back tomorrow night and enjoy the other semi.

I think I'll just DVR thegame and watch it later on tomorrow night.

I have tickets to a baseball game that starts at noon and it's going to be a nice day.

I really would love Milan to win the game 1-0 tomorrow, or 2-1 just to Pi** off the granny sha**er.

I blame Rafa, it's almost like it's excpected.

But really, I wasn't nervous about tonight, cos I've kept away from all footy talk, all papers, and from here, as much as possible. I've concentrated my thoughts on the ice hockey for a while, and that helps. Otherwise I'd have been a wreck.

So until the game started, I was totally calm, then as the game went on, I became a wreck :D

Now I just feel great relief more than anything!

I was numb during the shoot out and a little bit after the immediate reaction of joy after the shoot out. Just total disbelief really.

Back in August of every year, we dream of nights like this. This is what Liverpool football club exists for. Cherish it.

It's just...you know?....WE'RE IN THE F*CKING EUROPEAN CUP FINAL!

I was born in 1976, and barely remembered our visits previous to 2005. F*ck's sake, I can't BELIEVE we're back there again. It just seems so, well, routine. I can't believe it at all.

Rafa's unbelievable. If he gets real backing this summer...well, I dunno...wow

The game finished around 4.30 am here and I was buzzin too much to go back to sleep.

It's not the same though when you know you won't be going to the final.

'84 was the only one I've been to. I regret not at least making the trip to Istanbul but too skint to even think about it this year.

No alcohol tonight but I'll be booking a day off post-final.

It's funny though, nearly 20 years away and it's amazing the high it still brings.

It finished 4 1/2 hours ago and I am at work and still buzzing. I cannot bloody concentrate - feel like I've been on the beak ;)

Can remember all of our previous finals, but have never been to one and missed out on Istanbul due to circumstances, when I had a ticket.

I will be in Athens with more bells on than a f'cking morris-dancer.

I've got one bit of advice for the lads.

DON'T DROP THIS ONE YOU F***ING NUMPTIES!

The one we won in Istanbul is supposed to have a dent in it.

I'm fumming, My misses washed my jeans with the passport in the back pocket and its ruined. I'll be trapped in Sydney. Ahh well. I only finished paying off the Istanbul trip this year. They can do it without me!

I'm in Australia, and with it not really being in the media, people in the street speaking about it, and all the champions league matches being played at 4.45am i'm not getting any real sense of the occassion. Its pretty weird actually. I wouldn't mind being home right now, to see everyones reaction, and see all the build up for the final.

It's fantastic. 2005 had an air of inevitablity around it. This year, it feels more like it has to come down to the true quality of the team. Made me really nervous Chelsea might nick it. and here we are - in the final. Couldn't get my arms down last night and this morning I am just gonna sit back with some fresh ground coffee, read the reactions and maybe have a smirk at Mourinho's delusions/playacting of a decent man.
