 at the Gerrard and Fabregas nominations. Scholes, Drogba and Ronaldo have been the best players by a long way this season.

Danny Agger deserves to be in that list though (unless he's a year too old?). You dont go replacing Sami Hyypia in the first team without being a little bit special

Not sure he's earned that nomination this season TBH.

There's only 2 players in the running for the award anyway.

Is Agger too old for young player nomination ?

Ronaldo could win both I fear.

Only Drogba is realistic competition for him in either bracket.

be amazed if it's any other outcome than both awards to Ronaldo - fine season as Drogba has had.

farcical.

drogba should win the senior one anyway, he's been immense.

Drogba was the obvious pre xmas.

Ronaldo is post xmas.

IMO.

Gerrard shouldnt be on it.

Nearly 24 year old Kevin Doyle makes the young persons one yet Agger doesnt. Unreal.

Then again they do say footballers are thick.

I was thinking about this the other day - more along the lines of, if the season ended now, who would our player of the year be? - we've had few outstanding players. I'd say Agger. Gerrard hasn't been poor, but certainly not player of the year. Not even Liverpool's player of the year, I'd imagine

micah richards makes the list for being english. think agger's done enough this season to have warranted a nod, but as sutty says, defenders and 'keepers rarely get the recognition.

carragher should be on the senior list ahead of gerrard. not to mention finnan.

If C.Ronaldo does not win both the awards its a complete joke.

If the votes from the Norwegian players in the PL is something to go by he will be the winner as well.

Don't they do the vote in September or something soft like that?

Doubt they'll give both awards to Ronaldo.

He has no competition for young player of the year so they'll probably give him that and give player of the year to Drogba.

In which case I think Grogba will win the senior one.

so what will the premiership XI be, if we assume the 6 nominees make the list automatically?

GK : ?

RB : ?

CB : ?

CB : ?

LB : ?

RM : Ronaldo

CM : Fabregas

CM : Gerrard

LM : Giggs

FOR : Scholes

FOR : Drogba

I reckon Cech will get a sympathy vote.

Left back may go to Evra, Right back will go to Richards because of his young player nomination.

Perm any two of Carragher, Vidic and Carvalho for the centrebacks.

Think Carra is the one that really should be on that list myself, he has been outstanding in several competitions and the key player in many of our matches. No disrespect meant to Gerrard but his nomination this year is frankly ridiculous.

Is how I reckon they'll see it. Essien should be in that team somewhere tho.
