3rd and 4th are all the same but obviously i would prefer 3rd. i think arsenal have more strength in depth than us though.

Not good for Arsenal surely especially with the replay being away from home but they have a lot of players back from injury so they can cope. Remember we won the Treble and finished 3rd in 2001 with the most games played in recent history.

Can lead to knocks and injuries too, it's pot luck to a degree. The problem with Arsenal is both their sides are top 4 regardless.

I take it everyone is ignoring Bolton who have even fewer games to play than either us or Arsenal.

 

Everton got 4th two years go, Spurs only missed out on 4th last year on the last day - I certainly wouldn't take 3rd/4th for granted at the moment

I think we can take 3rd for granted. however, a few more injuries, replays etc for arsenal (who also have an easy CL Game) and bolton could sneak in there.

I don't see how we can take third for granted when Arsenal are a point behind us with a game in hand. We're three ahead of Bolton, who are fifth.

Playing more games is simply the result of being more successful. It's a silver lining - of sorts, that we get more of a rest than Arsenal, but we need to make sure that we use that to our advantage. If neither us nor Arsenal win the CL, and we finish third and they come fourth, then we will have done better. But that is reversed if they win the FA Cup and/or the League Cup. We exist to win trophies, and Arsenal knocked us out of two of them recently.
