According to Peter Taylor it was a Leeds player out for a drink with a Palace player (Derry does make sense)-, but he says Leeds have over reacted. No team details were passed on and there were several changes from what he thought Leeds would play.

this happened to Megson when he was at Forest......they were playing Stockport, when they arrived at the ground County manager (ronnie Moore I think) called him in his office and said that he should look at a fax they recieved that afternoon....

 

it was from a Forest fax machine, and had the team, formation etc etc

 

Megson said that he thought it was weird...they played a game a few weeks before and they changed formation (a system they had never played) and the opposition matched them from the off....
