What a start to his career at Craven Cottage.

5 goals in 3 games so far. Be interesting if he keeps scoring so freely.

I doubt it as they wont be playing Leicester and Stoke every week ;)

Good start though.

But he scored in the Premiership on his debut didn't he. ;)

I remember him going on an insane scoring spree about 4 years ago; all sorts of goals were flying in. I know he's had injuries and dips in form since then, but like Fowler (although slimmer!), he's one of those naturally great finishers.

He was a great striker once upon a time, don't know what's happened to him in recent seasons but if he finds his best form for Fulham, he'll be a great signing for them and a great addition to the Premiership.

I really rate Coleman. He may not have the friends in the press to sing his praises like some of the usual characters, but what he does at Fulham is very impressive.

One of my favourite strikers over the last 10 years or so is Montella.

His goalscoring record in Italian football is absolutely phenomenal, practically a goal every other game with Sampdoria and Roma. He reminds me of Fowler in a way because he has all the finishes whether it be the good olod fashioned blaster into the bottom corner or the chip or volley, and his football brain and movement are a step ahead of everyone else on the pitch.

As to what's happened to him, basically injury over the past couple of seasons. Even in his advancing years if he stays injury free he'll be an absolutely incredible signing for Fulham, and will score enough goals to keep them away from the drop zone single-handedly...

A bigger team in the league will come in for him in the Summer if he keeps it up and stays fit.

The Premiership doesn't really have many Italian players.

Because if they're any good they they stay in Italy incase they can make the national team. I think they shot themselves in the foot when they refused to pick Zola 'cause he came here, they did alright without him, but with him in your squad.... One of, if not the most natural, talented, skilfull Gentleman the premiership, or any of the English leagues has ever seen.

him missing the penalty at euro96 and knocking italy out of the tournament didn't help him either

My sentiments too.

Zola was quality and a gentleman and I thought his link up creative play was better than baggio's, baggio was quality, but seemed more of a goal scorer than an all rouind player, though I have to admit I saw more of Zola than I ever did of baggio on a regular basis, ie: British telly.

Is this a real discussion or a taking the piss discussion?

Baggio was on another level than Zola, but Zola arrived in the PL at the right time and compared to most PL players his technique was out of this world, Zola was seen a a star player in Italy as well, but not on Baggios level.

Montella is a pure goalscorer and if he can stay injury free he will be a scoop for Fulham, now they have more possibilities and he is totally different compared to McBride and Helguson.
