Stoke secure loan move for Diao

 

Stoke have revealed they have extended their loan of Liverpool's Senegal international midfielder Salif Diao until the end of the season.

"There's plenty of excitement around the place. He's coming until the end of the season and it's a smashing deal for the club," he said.

 

"He will improve what we've got and that's what we're looking to do.

 

"There are one or two other areas that we want to strengthen because the pressure to get points mounts now."

mate who's a season ticket holder there has been made up with him. Seems he's really found his level, which tbh, is probably where Sedan in la ligue were equivalent.

 

Plays a very hammanesque role by all accounts - sits deep, protects, breaks up play and distributes short passes.

Stoke City have completed the signing of the former Liverpool midfielder, Salif Diao on a free transfer.

 

The influential Senegalese international was expected to rejoin on another loan deal, but he has signed a contract until the end of the season after agreeing a free transfer with Liverpool.

I remember a time when the sheriff was actually a half decent box-to.box player.

 

He'd be my first choice for ceremonial squad player. Though I am not sure if I actually like him or just pity him.

The fella is an odd-ball - he gave up a move with Flo to Spain at the start of the season and now settles for Stoke :detective:
