Stevie H Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 -------------reina finnan--hyppia--agger--riise pennant--carra--gerrard--garcia --------fowler---kuytcrouch has to start against a former club. and i'd go with agger in midfield.
M4TTA Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 crouch has to start against a former club. and i'd go with agger in midfield. exacly how i'd like to see it. spot on that.
Guest Kev Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 I'd like to see Guthrie given a go rather than move a defender out of position.
Guest Kev Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Is this game on sky ppv tonight? Pigf*****s v Chavs is the live game tonight.
Falconhoof Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 I'd like to see Guthrie given a go rather than move a defender out of position. Agree with that but we both know that Rafa will want a holding player in there and Guthrie hasn't really done that for the reserves. It'll be Agger or Carra won't it.
Coyler Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Really looking forward to this makeshift midfield. Seasons are kickstarted on such unexpected notes. On satellite in Frazer's, I presume...?
Knox_Harrington Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 (edited) Really looking forward to this makeshift midfield. Seasons are kickstarted on such unexpected notes.I love an injury crisis I must admit. It's so 2004/5. I love watching Rafa furiously improvise. Edited November 29, 2006 by Knox_Harrington
Guest stevo96 Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 i'm not sure why peltier is not getting a look in for tonight. he's the more accomplished player in that position, and has had more first team action than guthrie, who is more of attacking midfielder anyway.
Ronnie Whelan Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Really looking forward to this makeshift midfield. Seasons are kickstarted on such unexpected notes. On satellite in Frazer's, I presume...? The Reverand says: "I love Frazers on a midweek night, the warm and friendly environment reminds me of Downing Street."
Buttles Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 11:40 pm Match of the Day BBC 1Hour & quarter long programme, whats the betting we are on at 12.50.
Coyler Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 The Reverand says: "I love Frazers on a midweek night, the warm and friendly environment reminds me of Downing Street."Have they been banned from showing Celtic matches? Some talk of that happening after the BATTLE OF O'CONNELL STREET.
Sion Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 The only reason people could have for picking Guthrie is that they hope he'll play a blinder and be some regular first teamer from then on. Hardly anybody has seen enough of him to suggest he could a job as well as any of the centre-backs let alone a better one. We're not playing in a Carling Cup game, it's a difficult premiership game against a much improved P'mouth
johngibo YPC Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 I love an injury crisis I must admit. It's so 2004/5. I love watching Rafa furiously improvise. ah the good old days. Beating Arsenal with Mellor and Pongolle up front!
_00_deathscar Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 ah the good old days. Beating Arsenal with Mellor and Pongolle up front! Yea...that piece of outrageous skill still sticks
Knox_Harrington Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 ah the good old days. Beating Arsenal with Mellor and Pongolle up front!Wherefore art thou Nunez?
Bjarkinn Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 (edited) any news regarding who will be playing in the middle? Edited November 29, 2006 by Bjarkinn
AE Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 any news regarding who will be playing in the middle? Andy, Kev, Big Wayne and RP.We are going for power over pace
Romario Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Reading the Zenden thread Rafa suggests Hyypia playing the holding roll. Personally I can't get my head around that one at all. Just can't see it at all to be honest. I think we'll play with wing backs..-------------------reina---------carra---hyppia--aggerfinnan--------------------------------riise-------pennant--gerrard---garcia/Bellamy--------------kuyt-------------------------- Crouch
honourablegeorge Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Hyppia in the holding role will probably me more of a five man defence than it will a four man midfield, really. That said the prospect of Big Sami taking the ball and going on a storming run through the centre deffo has a nice ring to it.
Andy @ Allerton Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Andy, Kev, Big Wayne and RP.We are going for power over pace
