Dominus Maximus Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Well I have a feeling saying that real Liverpudlians claim Everton to be the rivals, while OOT's view United as the main Rivals. Lately the United and Everton games have been overshadowed by the Chumski games. And there may be a shift. So let's have an official YNWA.tv poll... Who do you "hate" the most? Who is the main Rival???
Sion Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Everton United and Chelsea all for different reasons. I just can't stand Everton so much though so they pip it.
Billy Dane Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 The question is who do you hate, not who are your rivals. Everton are rivals but don't hate them like I do the Mancs. and why would "real" Liverpudlians hate Everton? Yes it's got bitter over recent years, but still don't think it's as bitter as it is with Utd.
_00_deathscar Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 I don't hate Everton. I despise Manure and can't stand Chelsea. #1 Mancs#2 Chelsea#3 Everton
Guest Scot Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Everton and United in that order. Those are permanent. Chelsea-obsession is temporary (I hope, because it bores the sh*t out of me).

I even cheered them on when they beat the Mancs in the 95 cup final. For a while I thought it was Chelsea but the hatred for the Mancs shone through whilst they were on telly the other week. Deffo top of the list. 1. Mancs2. Chelsea3. Everton.
Guz Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 If we were REGULARLY beating Chelsea, they wouldn't even be in a shortlist.
Guest Kev Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 I don't hate Everton. I despise Manure and can't stand Chelsea. #1 Mancs#2 Chelsea#3 Everton Same for me, but I hate them all.
Gunga Din Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 whoever hates Chelsea more than the manc's is either a cockney or a tosspot.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 as someone said on this forum not so long ago - remember hatred is for life. Chelsea haven't even got close to earning our hatred. Switch on the Mancs & then tell me you hate Chelsea more than them Chelsea are c****, yes; but the feckin Mancs...
owenthomas Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Man Utd.. i can't believe 18 people (so far) have voted for Chelsea for f*** sake..
John am Rhein Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 The main rival is Everton but the one I hate most - indeed the only one I hate - is Man united.
Guest sonofshankly Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 1st.Man untd2nd.Blue sh*te3rd,Chavs,
Guest RedDwarf Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 The correct answer is the Mancs. Always has been, always will be....Amen
Leo No.8 Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 (edited) Everton are our local rivals, Chelsea the hate flavour of the month but our real enemy is, and always will be United. The Bluenoses just haven't been succesful enough over the years to be considered our main rivals. United are close to us geographically, but equally important is the fact that both of us consider ourselves the best club in England and have legitimate claims. Its the same in Manchester as it is in Liverpool - City fans hate United the way Everton hate us, but United fans can't reciprocate beyond some local banter because they just don't consider them enough of a threat. I love hearing United fans singing about us at every game they play in though, 'if you all hate the scousers' etc. which gets aired at every single match they play in. The reason for that is although they'd deny this vehemently, the truth is its a mark of respect and I like the fact that they still feel so bitter towards us. I love that we don't sing about them unless we're playing them, because it shows they still have more bitterness and envy towards us than we do towards them, to need to sing about hating us all the time even when we're not there. Chelsea are thoroughly dislikeable, but in a different way. They aren't even a football club really in the traditional sense of the word, but just some ultra-rich blokes fantasy football team. They also have some odious players and staff, so I must admit I feel an extremely strong dislike for them as well at the moment. But at the end of the day I hate United more than anyone, and have to grudgingly admit that part of that is because I respect what they've achieved. The good thing is that it comes back the other way even stronger, which is probably because we are still the most succesful club in English football, and in European football over the last 30 years. It must be hard to deal with that, so let them hate us. If they ever stop, its because we're no longer good enough.. Edited October 9, 2006 by Leo No.8
Ostrich Man Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 I love that we don't sing about them unless we're playing them, you mean apart from the match against galatasaray?
chrisbonnie Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 i voted utd, but i do, and have had for the past 5 years a serious hatred towards bolton, their tactics are simply "anti-football"
Guest efcrmagic Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Seriously, I mean seriously, I get the Utd thing, that doesn't bother me, but Chelsea? f***ing Chelsea? I find it rather pathetic that a cockney team, no real rivals before the last 2 years and even before then when you were both on a even keel it was nothing can become such rivals or "claim" to be rivals. To me it smells of the Utd thing in the 90's when eveyone hated because they were the best. It's "cool" to dislike Chelsea.
