One of my favourite ever players and when I got the chance to get one of his signed shirts, it wasn't a hard choice. Would have rather have had a Barca one than a Madrid one but can't really complain. Best striker of his generation by a mile.

It's a brilliant gesture. However given that they make more money per matchday than any other club in the world, they can afford to be a little magnanimous. Ditto with the Mancs who give 50% off any ticket for any game for U16s. You'd hope that once we get on an even keel that we'll be as keen to share the wealth with the local community but I won't hold my breath.

hahaha...said exactly the same to my old man yesterday. Jobs for the boys, innit geez. Re Keegan though, perhaps the Geordie massive may not be so head bowing towards him in future. He must have known when he took the court case out asking for £25m in damages that it would have almost certainly bankrupted them but pressed ahead anyway. He was right to win the case but got a fair payout instead of the ridiculous figure wanted.

Tell me a manager that doesn't. That argument doesn't wash - the finances of the club are the responsibility of the board, not the manager. If they can't or won't say no, that's down to them.

Oh he is like ETs finger, no doubt, but always seems like a decent fella. Don't know about him leaving the clubs in the sh*te though, that's hardly his fault really. Men like Rupert Lowe only have themselves to blame. The list of managers that like a sweetener is probably a lot longer and contains a lot of football's supposed "nice" guys.
