Hell of a player but gone now. As has already been said, bigger and better have left and we've more than coped. f*** getting bitter and twisted about all this, we're supposed to be better than that.
Who knows, perhaps they thought Torres might do anything to force a move regardless of the fee being offered. I just find it very difficult to believe that a respected firm like FSG would seemingly let their best asset go three days before the end of the window with no feasible replacement in sight without so much as a whimper. It either speaks volumes about their ambition and credibility or that there was something there beyond their control.
The point that's getting missed is if they offer the money to accomodate the release clause then the club are powerless to stop him moving. f*** off Purslow.
Tony Evans sounded gutted on the radio, half like he was going to start filling up. Landmark day for us, the first player in my lifetime to leave the club for another English club in a move seen as a step up. Sh*te.
Too right. I wonder if they'll bring two people in seperately or whether they'll announce a new "dream team" etc. Big shout needed from Sky, one of the biggest decisions they'll ever have to make.
I can't get away from the feeling that Torres knew this bid was in the offing. Why make a bid coming up to the 11th hour unless you've a good idea your target may be happy to push things along at his end? If there isn't a definitive statement from the club or the player on the new developments in the next 24 hours then we may be about to witness one of the most spectacular falls from grace by a Red.
