  3. I agree. Hope that the subsequent meetings take the little pygmy to task a lot more.
  4. The only things that will shake the short termists out of their reverie is two or so seasons out of the CL and a couple of big names being sold and not replaced. Sadly, the damage will almost be irrevocable by that stage.

  7. Spot on.
  8. As mentioned previously, the owners spoke on arrival of the new stadium being able to assist regeneration in the area. Re the stadium, our current one doesn't generate enough money to sustain our debt levels. The Mancs have a far better infrastructure than we do which allows them to take on greater debt. Had we owners who were able to offer more financial contributions to get the stadium going (and before you say it, I don't expect them to pay for the lot) then we could get it built and start generating a lot more money a lot quicker. Obviously then this gives us a great deal more stability financially. Yes, we'd have more debt but an awful lot more revenue streams to manage it.
  9. I didn't say it was the top of the list. But it's still a big issue, one that they were happy to trumpet when they arrived but have now been happy to shunt aside, again just like the stadium which IMO will never be built whilst they're still here. They can't manage the debt they've got now as effectively as is necessary to allow the club to function as it should so there's no chance they'll take another £300/400m on board.
  10. One, the people who lived around there gave a shiny s****. I don't live there but have friends who do. Secondly, the club have made umpteen promises to that effect and orchestrated a huge PR campaign to get those people on side, the same people who weren't exactly overjoyed about the prospect of another twenty or thirty thousand people storming the area on matchday. They won them over with promises of how much better things were going to be but now it's all pie in the sky, just like the f*cking stadium.
  11. Possible but very unlikely on the basis that Purslow is a Hicks man through and through. Recruited by Hicks and given his power and authority by Hicks. When you've been given that sort of opportunity, you don't bite the hand that feeds you. He's only been here five minutes and already shown how ruthless he is. A word in the ear from "middle management" is hardly, on the face of it, going to turn him from the dark side.
  12. In a nutshell.
  13. Why's he here? There's a set of fans, for the most part, who idolise him and despise his bosses. He now has a level of control in his workplace he would struggle to beat or even match in a similar sized club. He has a young family who are settled and love living in this country. Oh, and he's one of the highest paid managers in the world, on a contract that he knows his employers can't afford to pay up if they want to sack him. The fella's practically fireproof and he knows that if he plays the game, he'll be here long after the owners are.
  14. When was the last time you heard about Ferguson's relationship with David Gill? Or Wenger with Keith Edelmann? Or any of the Chelsea managers in the Abramovich era with the chief executives? It's pointless window dressing that means nothing. Of course the deal is a real fillip for the club but that's it. Why feel the need to reinforce publically that all's well within the camp when clearly it won't be? Rafa has just been tucked up good and proper by the hierarchy over a budget that was crucial to the next stage of his side's development, the most crucial since he's been here, and all of a sudden he's coming out saying how great everything is? Do me a favour. It'll all come out though. Maybe they'll do the PR launch behind the Depository.
  15. hahaha...this is exactly what I said the other week and got lambasted for it. As others have said, the timing of this "love in" is unreal, we've got all the horrible sh*te of the transfer window out of the way but now we've got some good news, let's show everyone how we're all bezzies really. Plus of course he can ride it out, we can't afford to sack him after the contract we've given him and he knows that G&H plus acolytes are public enemies number one. He's no angel either, to be fair, he's more than adept at manipulating a situation to his advantage btu he knows who's holding the aces. All £25m of them to be exact.

  22. Just to clarify from my end; my pal has no reason to lie to me at all and no advantage is gained by him to slant a story one way or the other. Whilst he is somewhat more cynical about the club than I am given the length of time he's worked there and through some of the farcical situations he's witnessed, he's as big a fan as anyone. Given his proximity to certain situations though, he's a pretty reliable source when he has stuff to tell. Like I said, I'm happy to say who he is, just not on the public forum. I know you weren't including me in the above, just saying that's all.
  23. I've mentioned on here a couple of times that I've a mate who works for the club. I'm not going to reveal his name because he wouldn't want me to. However, it will be familiar to a fair few people on here. If any of the mods wanted to ask me privately, I'd be happy to tell them if they wanted validation. Luckily for me though, I couldn't give a pearly toss about who you are so if you don't like it then I'm really not arsed.
