  1. Only just realised that Keegan doesn't count anyway because he won one with Liverpool in '77. The original question only requires names who haven't won one with Liverpool.
  2. Babbel played on the losing Bayern side in 1999.........can't remember who beat them though
  3. No, but I think he played on the Hamburg losing side to Forest
  4. I thought Finnan, Kuyt & Sissoko played very well also.
  5. I hope Luis plays. The man for the big occassion.
  6. When I saw Vidic score a bullet header from a Giggs corner for them the other week, it got me seriously worried. It brought back the nightmares of Pallister (x2), Silvestre (x2) and Ferdinand doing that to us in previous games. I'm sure they'll be targetting us big time from set pieces on Sunday.
  7. Clem : "I bet you make the YNWA forum pages for that one, eh Paul? Question is, will it be the LFC forum or the General Footie Forum !"
  8. Didn't know Graham Rix was a coach at Arsenal.

    Agger

Sack Rafa ! All these injured & tired players, and what does Rafa do ? He lets our most versatile player go out on loan to Stoke City
  10. Gosh, you must be an arl lad......that was in 1974 & Liverpool won 11-0.
  11. I agree totally with that. We would have to put up with a lot of 0-0 or 1 goal games, but we are light years away from being able to take on the top nations (and even middle/lower nations at this stage) at their game, so let's go back to the Charlton way of doing it. We won't win any admirers but we might win some games.
  12. Nah, they should give it to Michael Owen......make him do something for all that money they're paying him.

    Steve Finnan

Finnan is a top defender. Perhaps you never noticed that we never get ripped apart in a game down our right hand side, like we have done down the left (Galatasary for example). That's not co-incidence, that's down to Finnan having excellent positional sense. Of course there will be examples of him being caught out occassionally, just like every other defender in the world and yes he got caught in the air for the 2nd goal on Saturday, but most full backs in the world are poor in the air. The key is to stop the cross at source, and this is where we are very weak on the left. As posted above, there are numerous examples of top-drawer crosses from Finnan over the past couple of season. Finnan was part of a back four that gave one of the most consistent seasons EVER as far as clean sheets is concerned last season. That is a huge compliment, given some of the defenders this great club has had in the past. The argument being made by the OP is just ridiculous, imho.
  14. Even for their European away games those Manc t***s remain obsessed about Liverpool. Must be because we're back on our perch.
  15. Andy Gray swears by that method of psychological analysis
  16. Why would Eric Meijer, Nigel Clough, Howard Gayle, Paul Walsh for example get in the top 100 before Jim Beglin ? After all Beglin was an integral part of that great double winning side.
  17. Agger will be better than Terry
  18. I love Rafa's post match interviews. The guy was trying to bait him about the penalty, but he didn't bite. He exudes class and should be a lesson to all other managers on how to conduct oneself immediately after a defeat, when he must be feeling really s**t but puts a brave face on things and says all the right things. Good on ya Rafa.
  19. I agree. He was their best player by a mile today.
  20. That pre-match discussion about Gerrard was disgraceful. Gray was trying to make out that Gerrard should be telling Rafa where to play him, and if Rafa didn't then Gerrard should tell him he's off. Him & Keyes were really trying to stir things up about Gerrard again. C***s.
  21. I thought Poll's ego would have taken a battering after the summer, but looking at him yesterday, sadly it hasn't.
  22. For the last half hour or so today, we had 5 players (Agger, Aurellio, Gonzales, Bellamy & Kuyt )who have had little or no competitive playing time with LFC. Might have been a bit much of us to expect to have been steamrolling a West Ham side who are practically unchanged from last season. 3 welcome points and another game under these guys belts. Onwards and upwards.
  23. A useless piece of information, but these are managed by Stig Bjornbye and they knocked Drogheda out 11-10 on pens last night.
  24. Firstly, let's hope WE are up to the challeng of beating them in the League this year....hopefully twice, but 4 pts from them would be hugely satisfying.
