If they get 16 this year, it should be part of the motivation for our club to go on and pick up 19 & 20 in the next 3-4 years......put us right back on our f**king perch. No reason why we can't do that. Great manager, good bunch of young players and spice that up with one or two signings and we're laughing all the way to more records!

Always wary of scottish based players nowadays. Very hard to judge how good or bad they are. In my opinion, Ferguson is on the same level as Neil Lennon up there and look at the level Lennon was at down south, so I think it'd be wise to stay clear.

One of the biggest anomalies of all which happens many times every game is the one where an offence that is penalised outside of the penalty area, will not be penalised when it happens inside the penalty area (obstruction and placing one's arms over the shoulders of your direct opponent being the most common ways it happens).

Agreed. Stevie G clattering Speed in the first five minutes really set the tone and we bossed the game from there on as much as we have any game this season.

Not sure if they played together, I doubt it given Pennant's age. But the commentator said that Fat Sam let both of them go during his time as manager there

Well done JP. Have to admit I was a little frustrated with him at h.t., First half he had tonnes of possession, but his delivery left him down I felt. Second half he was outstanding. Again, he saw plenty of the ball, but this time his delivery was ace.

I hope we don't make too many signings between now & next July. One or two top names (if the money becomes available). Give this squad another chance......1 full season behind them by then & no world cup/euros and we'll be rockin' come next August. Only thing being, by winning the CL again we'll have to bugger off to the far east or somewhere again for that world club championship :-(

That's absolute b****cks. The only two teams out of our reach in the league can afford to spend that money on two players ffs. Oh, and there were the small matters of Rafa winning the CL & FA Cup. Do one, please.

Agreed. Had today's result come off 7 poor results, then there may be some justification, but how people can start a thread with this title after the last 6 weeks we've had is beyond belief.
