Sounds like Ian St John did the headline writing on this one Having them in the penalty area doesn't make sense....having them stationed a couple of metres behind the goal-line to the right or left of the goal could have some merit for penalty decisions and ball over the line decisions.

For the period 1973-1990, it would actually be below average. For the period 1991-2006, it would be distinctly above average. It would be very interesting to know how old you are, so that the rest of us could put your statement in context.
