Yet previously he was experimental, it's weird. The worry for me is that at the first sign of trouble he seems to have abandoned all his footballing principals. I dunno maybe he is playing it too safe i.e. playing, in his mind, his best players in the hope they dig us out of this hole.

Remember his first season, never bloody used subs.

He's made plenty of comments about foreign players over the years and there is this one from 2009 which for some reason stuck in my mind. 'I'd never entertain a foreign manager for Wigan and I don't think it's right that England have a foreign manager either. 'We're the home of football. I can't believe that we need foreign managers 'I wouldn't go anywhere near one because I don't accept you must go abroad for your boss. He then went on to appoint Martinez and IIRC tried to defend it by saying that Martinez had been brought through the English system so it wasn't the same as actually bringing in a foreign manager....

Disagree, we have a number of young players waiting in the wings - wether they make it or not time will only tell. Plus we have a couple out on loan who again might pan out long term. We already have a good mix of young players in the starting line up/squad so THIS was exactly the right time to bring in as the very least 2 established players. Could be one of those players that needs a good run of games to get up to speed, so far it's been a bit stop start.

Needs to learn when to attack the ball and when to hold fire. All to often he rushes out misses and leaves a gaping hole with nobody there to cover....

We missed having a body in that area of the pitch, Allen however is not the answer.

Stats can often be misleading and as I don't really pay much attention to keepers, unless playing against us, I can't really comment on his form before he joined. Every keeper gets beat at the near post occassionally and I can't say I've noticed any major issue in that respect, I could be wrong mind. Weight of shirt, crap coaching, dodgy stats or all the above either way he doesn't strike me as a confident/commanding person and that is a big issue for a keeper.

If that's the case Skrtel must have the right manual as he's yet to be dropped. As for Mignolet he should, at the very least, be commanding his six yard box on crosses yet all too often is rooted to his line.
