  1. That would be ideal, assuming you mean Chelsea's white kit.
  2. Nobody is bigger than the club, including Rafa. Either way, I don't think he'll join the poisoned chalace that is Madrid. He's got lots to do at LFC, and more importantly, he's got a lot of freedom to do those things, something he wouldn't have at Madrid and didn't have at Valencia. If we win the league under Rafa, I can see him going then.
  3. Not even slightly. It's how it works now. Every lower league team currently has every opportunity to take players on loan from the bigger clubs. The reason there is more of this these days is because the bigger clubs are already getting bigger due to TV deals etc, and the lower leagues are missing out and are starved of cash.
  4. England already have the players to do well in competitions. The reason they under perform is down to the FA and it's inability to select a manager with balls to pick the team, then back him all the way. For example, Brian Clough should have been England manager, but they were too afraid. Second choice Steve, FFS!
  5. Football is not about the big teams getting bigger and better than everyone else. That is the only motive behind this. Football should be about the joys of winning trophies and the fear of relegation. Football is about clubs working their socks of to get promoted to the top league, where they can live the dream ala Wimbledon. Football first, greed last. Getting really fed up with the big clubs wanting it all their own way. I truly believe that proper football as I 'knew it' only exists from Div 1 down these days. Sure, things evolve and we have to move with the times, but that does not mean pissing on the smaller clubs. I agree that the lower divisions should be regionalised, but there should never be reserve teams in those leagues. By all means choose a club like Crewe to support and offer your loan players too, but that is as far as it goes. The responsibility to develop British players rests with all clubs, not just the top 4.
  6. Indeed - definately a new away kit next year, so that revenues are increased with a new shirt every year, like we've always done. Launching new home and away at the same time isn't as profitable, as shirt buyers tend to choose one or the other, and not both.

  8. Whilst we're out of the league I want to win the CL more than anything. However, at the beginning of every season I want the league more.
  9. Harsh but true. Rafa needs to make up his mind where he plays Gerrard. I think it's causing more problems than we realise. Truth is, he's probably best in the middle, since he gets more of the ball. Yes he's effective on the right, but he influences the games more in the middle. If that happens, who else plays. Rafa has Alonso, Momo and now Mascherano to choose from. They can not all play. Maybe 4 2 3 1 will be the answer, With Mascherano, Alonso and Momo battling for the two holding roles. That leaves Gerrard as one of the 3, in the centre, then a need for two genuine wide players and one excellent striker. I just can't see any of this working until Rafa makes a brave decision on who to let go.
  10. We were poor. We don't lack a goal scorer (there were no chances to score from) we lack a midfielder or second striker with an abundance of skill. Someone that can beat a player and open the game up, like Ronaldo does. As soon as someone like him beats a player it creates room for others. Combine that skill with pace and it's a constant threat, particularly when playing alongside players like Rooney, Giggs etc. We just don't have that much 'skill' in the team. By that I mean genuine players with skill and pace that can continually beat defenders and influence games. Having said that, adding only one or two players like this would change things substantially. On a plus, Pennant did ok when he came on, and started to beat players. When he did, we looked better.

  14. I think Berbatov is class, and would arguably be better at LFC than Crouch is, even though I rate Crouch highly, but it would only work with someone pacey working off him. Berbatov and Kuyt for example, I don't think that would work. They'd be trying to get in the same positions as each other. Berbatov and Villa, or Eto'o.....maybe.......that could work. Who knows.
  15. Good manager. It's a shame. All his best players have been sold and he's had no money to buy news ones with. He'll be a success somewhere else. Does need to watch his tongue a bit though, obviously.
  16. Rafa will win the PL Fergie will never win the CL again. I firmly believe that.
  17. I agree. For this there should be very careful planning, ensuring current kopites and wannabe Kopites get to sit together. I also think day trippers would love to sing, so put them all together, then nobody will shout them down when they try to join in with the kop. Those that don't want to sing should also make themselves known. Perhaps have strategically placed quiter areas in the ground that don't affect the overall atmosphere. Bring back paying on the gate!!
  18. What a pile of shyte that is. It's the regulars that sit on their arses moaning half the time!! Day trippers should be encouraged. People want the best stadium and best players, well guess what, that costs money. There are more Liverpool fans outside Liverpool than there are inside Liverpool. Treat them with respect. Encourage them more. Let them spend their money in the shop. All adds up to the cash we all want for players. Being born in Liverpool doesn't make you a better fan. Sure, it makes others jealous, even envious of you, but that's as far as it goes. LFC should do all it can to allow as many of its fans as possible to watch them play. Currently, the club doesn't even scratch the surface with its fan base. I'd rather wait a few more years if it meant a bigger and better stadium which more people have a chance of getting tickets for.
  19. Do you reckon it will never happen? What are your thoughts on why that might be?
  20. A different point but related - there's more and more momentum now behind bringing back standing areas in grounds. Sports minister is talking about it now. BBC Website has a new story. I for one support this. I'm sure there is enough knowledge, experience and expertise to make safe standing areas again. This would change so much.

  22. Also a valid point, but that's Arsenal. Their fan base isn't as big. I think a ground somewhere around 75,000 would be ideal, but it shouldn't all be season ticket holders. I'd have say 60% season ticket holders. For me, when things are not going great or their is a cup match that isn't that interesting, it's the season ticket holders that are less likely to go. People might not like it, but the ground will 'fill' every week due to day trippers, not because all that want a season ticket have one.
