I wouldn't bet a Cobs fiver on that. What really grates is this tie could have been over in the first 10 minutes, Wirtz alone could have finished them off. Then we slid slowly but surely into the clueless zone with Captain Clueless on the line with not a clue what to do about it. Gerrard was patently the natural for the job, the best player in the world, a Scouser and a leader of men. Sami was great but had none of the attributes and obviously took it on the chin because he didn't live in a bubble. He sparked the game into life, had a couple of dribbles which unlike with Gakpo the defender was stretched and uncomfortable and had the first goal stood everybody would be raving that he took the full back's pants down and stuck it bang on Hugo's head. Nobody had created anything in the first 80 odd minutes, the lad created momentum. Chiesa has no legs, the injury has fcked up a good player, it's a shame. I thought Ibou was really good, Kerkez getting better every week, Virgil was ok. The entire midfield (not Dom obv) needs sacking off at this rate, I think Mac is finished, he reminds me of a latter day Fabinho. I hope I'm wrong..

I met him twice, once in e players lounge and once in the Coventry City players lounge. Makes me remember what a man about town I've been over the years . I was invited into the players lounge by Gravy who know Brian Hall very well. The Coventry meeting was a total gate crash, a mate and I had got really pissed up in the Axa Corporate Box and went wandering, spotted Emile Heskey with his dad and followed them. Ended up in the players lounge, my drunken mate was being a nause, he gave Sami the phone and said 'Sami, say hello to my bird', which Sami duly did, told her who he was and then laughed, gave him the phone back and told us she'd never heard of him.
