It's because of the ego thing, I think he'd consider it. Doing what Rafa couldn't do, proving that he could put Liverpool back where we belong. But he wouldn't be around more than 2 or 3 years. For long term planning, if you're going for Mourinho, you've also got to be thinking about his replacement.

That's the only real discrepancy in my mind too. I thought he'd shaken off a couple of challenges on the way through. The route he took and way the ball went in were the way I remembered.

Not far off how I remembered. I knew it went high because I was right behind the goal that night. It's funny seeing the speed and movement Molby had. But he seemed to lose some of that quite quickly.

Rafa's little gesture after Torres' goal was great. Big Sam probably spotted it, and will come out on behalf of his mate, saying that Rafa was calling him a w####er.

The 'not..prolific' and 'squad player' inaccuracies have been dealt with, so might I also suggest that he was a very consistent player as well. Not one to let you down. Agree with you completely that someone like that would be perfect for us today.

That's about right. And I think Bailey got fingers to it but failed to deflect it at all.

I was in the middle of the Kop, just above goal height. Perfect view of it. We also got a penalty for a foul a country mile outside the area. I think it was for a dodgy handball as well (though not too sure about that). The sweetest kind of penalty against the Mancs. We did have another nailed on penalty turned down though.

It's funny that out of all the goals I've ever seen, and some of them dozens of times on replays, it seems like this is one of the ones I remember most vividly. It will be very interesting to see how much is imagination.

On the radio news in Thailand, they just said it's Liverpool - like it's been done, dusted and announced. I was listening on my drive to work. Now in the office and online to read the gory details and nobody's got a clue! Bizarre.

Totally agree with Dalglish. He could take the knocks but he'd make sure he gave it back as well. Nothing spectacular but he could handle himself - he wouldn't have been such a great player if he couldn't.
