If you had bothered to read my post you would have realised, I wasn't saying anyone should give up their season ticket, but it might be that people who have a ticket for a particular game, boycott that game. Its about making a point and that can only be done by a boycott, mass picket. A PR war wont be won without the fans showing they are prepared to take action, a boycott of a particular match etc is a major part of it. The alternative is that fans do nothing but talk loudly about what should be done, say mass emails etc and not actually doing the very thing which would send the loudest message about how unhappy we are.

For all those thinking a mass clear out is the answer, who do they expect to come in and where is the finance going to come from. sorry to put a spanner in some peoples plans.

It seems some will moan about the owners but aren't prepared to do anything about it, it has to be about targetted boycotts or walkouts but apathy seems to rule, ironically amongst some of our more vocal fans. Yet as the club goes further down the tube those who aren't prepared to do anything about it will be the ones who moan the loudest.

Thats fine apart from how the league then decide who gets what for finishing between 4-7 because if you are saying 4th place isn't decided by actual league placing but by winning the play off, then who gets 5th 6th and 7th? Who get into the Europa cup, who doesn't, do the rules change if an English team wins the CL but finishes outside of the top4. If this happens when are the play off actually played because no point going ahead with them if they aren't actually going to result in qualification for the CL. The last date for entry for this years CL was something like a week after last years final, so as the final game of last season was the 24th May, it means 2 sets of 2 legs would have to be played along with a final in 10 days, try and get the tickets sold for those in that time with police clearance. I'm not asking you for the answers but it just throws up some of the questions and complications if the Premier League tried to go ahead with this ridiculous idea.

Are you sure its still the case as I thought when is was muted about the FA cup winners getting the place, it was said it couldn't be as it had to be done on league place. Looking at the The Uefa regs article 2.02 definitely states its based on league position.

I'm not actually sure the FA or Premier league can just do this anyway. The rules for entry state those who are allowed 4 entrants into the Champions League are those who finish 1st,2nd 3rd and 4th or if the team that won the CL is from the same country then the team finishing 4th is dropped into the Europa. So I'm not sure they can just say ok we will have a play off. Unless they are going to say the final places aren't sorted until after the playoffs which leads to all kind of complications, such as the money the club receives for finishing in each position. Still a daft idea anyway.

Sorry Ant I think it is that clear cut, he has shown over the last 2 to 3 seasons he doesn't want to fight for his place and that he has a god given right to be in the starting line up. Well he hasn't and should show some fight and committment, maybe then people can start to say he deserves a run of games, because until then he deserves nothing. Funnily enough when I have spoken to fans of other teams, not one of them has said anything about wanting Babel or said anything complimentary about him when, on the odd occasion his name has come up in conversation.

He has hardly played enough with either two to assume that this will work, plus I wouldn't drop Kuyt. With regard to Yossi, although I think he is a better player than Riera when on top form, I think we have a better shape and balance with Riera in the side. Not sure how you accomodate both unless yossi plays off the forward, or Kuyt goes up top and Yossi goes to the right. May have just ansered myself there doh!,
