  20. there are a lot of people on here who go every game home and away and all over Europe who dont share your views though. I'm sure there are plenty down the "Little Solly" who dont share your opinions either
  21. thats your opinion mate, not everyone will agree with it. i dont for one minute see Cisse as teh answer, but at this moment in time he is allwe have. so we either get behind him and hope he does the job, or we write him off, shout him down, and try and force him out. personally for me i think we have to give the lad a run of games in the league, see how he gets on. he hasnt had that yet, and the least he should be given is a chance
  22. A sense of perspective is badly needed around here today. Michael Owen has joined Newcastle from Real Madrid and on this forum you would think Liverpool have just been relegated. Firstly, Michael Owen left Liverpool last year, he left last year after telling everyone for a whole 18 months previous that he would sign and then leaving us to go running to Madrid to ?win things? at a knockdown price that left many Liverpool fans feeling betrayed. But it all spectacularly backfired on him. spending most of his time on the bench as a spectator, (Through no fault of his own form I hasten to add), watching a bunch of Galacticco?s win precisely nothing while the team he left went off and won the biggest prize of all. Fast forward a little bit and its now world cup year. Owen?s greed has landed him with the prospect of not even getting a place on Real Madrids bench, so rather than tough it out, he decides he wants to come back to Liverpool. Does he want to come back to Liverpool because he feels he has made a mistake and wants to put things right?, does he want to come back to Liverpool because he wants to be part of the Rafaloution?, does he want to come back because he loves it. Does he f***. The only reason Michael Owen wanted back to Liverpool was to further Michael Owens career. The only reason he wanted to come here was to further his England cause. Liverpool fans have often been accused of never warming to Owen. I agree with that 100%. We never warmed to him in the same way we warmed to Dalglish, or Fowler, or Gerrard, because for many of us, he was always ?Englands Michael Owen? never ?liverpools Michael Owen?, like Robbie was ?Liverpools Robbie Fowler or Stevie Gerrard is ?Liverpools Stevie Gerrard?. This isn?t me in any way trying to dis Michael Owen the player, his record speaks for itself, the guy is a class act and a benefit to any team he plays in. but the fact is he has wound up at Newcastle to me suggests that he has either been badly advised or is very thick. I mean Newcastle, FFS, they are a pitiful bunch, a piss poor outfit trying to masquerade as a ?Big Club? Ah well Michael, no one loves a striker more than they do at Newcastle mate, or so they keep telling us, so hopefully you will enjoy yourself up there, but for £16million, is it really value for money? I don?t think so, I think we have more pressing needs than a centre forward. Owen isnt interested about playing for Liverpool, Owen is interested in playing for Englang. granted, he might have prefarred to play his League football here than at Newcastle, but at the end of the day, winding up at Newcastle is all of his own doing
  23. looking at it from the point of view of the player, i simply CANT see him going to newcastle. it would be a major step down for the lad, at what should be the most crucial transfer of his career. Newcastle are a nothing club, with a nothing manager and no chance of winning anything. yes, he will be guaranteed a game most weeks, but is that all he really wants. having left us to experience new things, to try and "Better" himself and win things, and to wind up playing his football in Newcastle would be a very strange and almost comical turn of events.
  24. tis a fair point, natural width has been a problem too, coupled with the fact that we dont get enough crosses into the box
