  3. there are a lot of people on here who go every game home and away and all over Europe who dont share your views though. I'm sure there are plenty down the "Little Solly" who dont share your opinions either
  4. thats your opinion mate, not everyone will agree with it. i dont for one minute see Cisse as teh answer, but at this moment in time he is allwe have. so we either get behind him and hope he does the job, or we write him off, shout him down, and try and force him out. personally for me i think we have to give the lad a run of games in the league, see how he gets on. he hasnt had that yet, and the least he should be given is a chance
  5. A sense of perspective is badly needed around here today. Michael Owen has joined Newcastle from Real Madrid and on this forum you would think Liverpool have just been relegated. Firstly, Michael Owen left Liverpool last year, he left last year after telling everyone for a whole 18 months previous that he would sign and then leaving us to go running to Madrid to ?win things? at a knockdown price that left many Liverpool fans feeling betrayed. But it all spectacularly backfired on him. spending most of his time on the bench as a spectator, (Through no fault of his own form I hasten to add), watching a bunch of Galacticco?s win precisely nothing while the team he left went off and won the biggest prize of all. Fast forward a little bit and its now world cup year. Owen?s greed has landed him with the prospect of not even getting a place on Real Madrids bench, so rather than tough it out, he decides he wants to come back to Liverpool. Does he want to come back to Liverpool because he feels he has made a mistake and wants to put things right?, does he want to come back to Liverpool because he wants to be part of the Rafaloution?, does he want to come back because he loves it. Does he f***. The only reason Michael Owen wanted back to Liverpool was to further Michael Owens career. The only reason he wanted to come here was to further his England cause. Liverpool fans have often been accused of never warming to Owen. I agree with that 100%. We never warmed to him in the same way we warmed to Dalglish, or Fowler, or Gerrard, because for many of us, he was always ?Englands Michael Owen? never ?liverpools Michael Owen?, like Robbie was ?Liverpools Robbie Fowler or Stevie Gerrard is ?Liverpools Stevie Gerrard?. This isn?t me in any way trying to dis Michael Owen the player, his record speaks for itself, the guy is a class act and a benefit to any team he plays in. but the fact is he has wound up at Newcastle to me suggests that he has either been badly advised or is very thick. I mean Newcastle, FFS, they are a pitiful bunch, a piss poor outfit trying to masquerade as a ?Big Club? Ah well Michael, no one loves a striker more than they do at Newcastle mate, or so they keep telling us, so hopefully you will enjoy yourself up there, but for £16million, is it really value for money? I don?t think so, I think we have more pressing needs than a centre forward. Owen isnt interested about playing for Liverpool, Owen is interested in playing for Englang. granted, he might have prefarred to play his League football here than at Newcastle, but at the end of the day, winding up at Newcastle is all of his own doing
  6. looking at it from the point of view of the player, i simply CANT see him going to newcastle. it would be a major step down for the lad, at what should be the most crucial transfer of his career. Newcastle are a nothing club, with a nothing manager and no chance of winning anything. yes, he will be guaranteed a game most weeks, but is that all he really wants. having left us to experience new things, to try and "Better" himself and win things, and to wind up playing his football in Newcastle would be a very strange and almost comical turn of events.
  7. tis a fair point, natural width has been a problem too, coupled with the fact that we dont get enough crosses into the box
  8. yes, but a very big problem in the lack of chances created is the lack of good movement fom our forwards, leaving the midfield with no one to pass the ball to in a forward position. how many times have you seen us get to the final third only to have no one to pass it to in the box
  9. i would say so, coupled with creating space for themselves so that they can recieve the ball from midfield. that just hasnt been teh case for us, especially awat from home in teh league, far too many games last season on the road were we never had a meaningful shot on goal. i would love to see the goal scoring stats for us awy from home in the league last season to see who are top scorer was and how many he got
  10. its never done till its done, but at his moment in time that is the most likely outcome, although Cisse's move to France may be on loan (heard this from two people and i find it rather odd indeed), with Lyon and Marseille doing most of the enquiring.
  11. Owen will sign on tuesday and Cisse is going back to France. i'll post the lotto numbers for saturday tomorrow
  12. Tuesday tock
  13. Owen will be back at Liverpool by next wednesday, and will probably over the weekend. Real and Newcastle may have agreed a fee, but Owen doesnt want to go there and will only go if we dont want him. but i have been told we do want him, he wants to come here and Rafa wants him. as a very last resort he will be here on loan, but the likelihood is a permanent deal over the weekend
  14. in fairness he has a very valid point. the G14 has lost its way i feel in recent years and the level of entry has been slipping in recent years. but the thing about the G14, is there is no guarantee that they will always be there, and i can see them being voted out pretty soon

  16. isnt there a forum for all this transfer bulls***
  17. if we get 20 million in the summer we should be looking at buying in 2 quality and proven players, a la Alonso and Morientes, and maybe a few players to bulk the squad up. if we can get maybe SWP, and a quality centre half in the summer, then i would be happy. bring ALT back from loan, Diarra, and i think that would do us. the problems over the last few years is we have bought "Potential". thats all well and good when you have a squad capable of mounting a challange, but its not fantastic when you are scrambling for 4th. my own opinion is that without investment rafa may get say £20m. it is possible Baros will be sold for say £10 -£15m, leaving us with a budget of £35 million, enough for a new winger, a new centre half, a new central midfielder, and a replacement striker that will compliment Cisse, Morientes and FSP
  18. have just sent in a complaint, bunch of (unts
  19. thats unbelievable. it absolutely shameful that the LFC board dont recognise the HJC
