  1. Gonna be impossible to buy a blank DVD in london next week
  2. Thought Citeh got a a 'massive' lesson today, they looked a million miles away from being a team anyone will take seriously. Hardly any intelligence in that team, they didn't know how to play the game, or how to beat a piss weak United side. Thought their best player was Vieira, that tells you all you need to know. They are decidedly lucky that Spurs have Chelsea and a tough run in. Unfortunately... I think Mancini probably knows how to make them a better side (and will replace a lot of what Hughes bought).
  3. Coming on the back of your postings about Rafa for the past 9 months that is slightly ironic, no? I recommend raising a wry smile at yourself
  4. Interesting statement from the new man which I'll take mostly at face value. The main part for me that looked a bit off is where he states (paraphrased) "the fans should not worry, I want what they want - what's best for the long term future of LFC." Now that, to me, does not fit alongside the aims of the current owners, which is to extract the maximum possible value from their asset. I don't see how he can possibly make both of those aspects come together in a single buyer bar we get really lucky. Obviously it is also a concern who buys us in the end. No guarantees they will go about things much differently is there? Him being a Chelsea fan etc, that's a nothing issue. Tony Barrett presumably doesn't have any inside info on this, so I think he is just speculating there. Not saying he's wrong, but it isn't some kind of 'exclsuive'.
  5. Think the answer is what happened - they met the strongest team. That Germany squad is amazing, apart from the reserve keeper practically everyone of them was a great player. The Dutch perhaps had 2 or 3 of the 5 best players at the tournament, but their squad was a bit thin in places But I know what you mean, they never even got started really, did they?

  8. "When the inevitable question is asked about why Messi has not played as well for Argentina over the past year as he has for Barcelona, it is tempting to give a one word answer: Xavi." Yeah, or maybe Maradona... but all hail Xavi regardless. I love that quote from the Mail, it's like the perfect microcosm of their whole ethos.

  10. Looks like this appointment has the potential to help us medium to long term, but if the short term result is a slight relaxation on the debt repayment this summer then no extra investment = no transfer activity once again...
  11. Seriously though, Rafa signed a massive contract didn't he? Why should he care how we play or if we win anything?
  12. Haha! Two up, here come the moans! Damned either way isn't he, eh?
  13. Is this some kind of joke match? I don't think the camera has even panned to the half way line this half.
  14. Dempsey Was it him that had the amazing game in goal for Basel at Anfield?
  15. Even working under the condition that we could sell players to raise funds to reshape the squad wouldn't be a total disaster, but if you're Rafa what do you do? Sell Yossi and cross your fingers that you get to see the money again? Let's face it, it hasn't really happened recently, has it?
  16. Messi. Easy.
  17. well played that man second half we blew them off the park with the pace of our game. interesting that we waited to hit top gear
  18. Very difficult... torres with 2 goals, gerrard 2 assists, kuyt goial and assist... but the final result be: 1) Lucas - by virtue of scoring just edging out 2) Mascherano 3) Kuyt - yet another huge performance but really.... Torres, Gerrard delivered the goods when they had the chance, Agger excellent at LB (seemed to remember his range of passing, brilliant), Yossi failry quiet yet played a major role in goals 2&3, Greek - didn't notice their big lump except when he was over a dead ball, and finally RAFA - tactics absolutely spot on.
  19. Happy days, half time. Greek doing a decent job on Cardoso, who looks utterly rubbish except when he's standing over an FK. Great goal from the little short haired Brazilian maestro What an annoying side these are - filthy as f***, and battlers too. I can't figure out why we are scared of these, but we are giving them plenty of respect. If the second half passes like the last couple of minutes of the first I'll be happy.
  20. ZZ. Brilliant last WC, on a different level to everyone else, and pretty much dragged a French team in disarray to the Final.
