I think it's fair to say that Italian culture is sufficiently different to Merseyside culture that she might enjoy herself a bit more.

If, as looks likely, Masher is off I'm not at all happy with the Gerrard/Aquilani/Lucas/Spearing options in midfield. We'll get ripped apart by anyone decent (regardless of whether that's a 2 or a 3) I think we need a top defensively minded midfielder as much if not more than a centre back

One simple explanation would be that the management decisions are reactionary rather than well thought out, secondly, as we have seen, it didn't make any difference to whether he was sackable or not... The way the club is run has been shambolic for years - pouring money into an architectural black hole, last summer's budget - one minute we're seriously talking to Tevez and Silva, next minute we can't afford Lee Cattermole or Ryan Shawcross - so why should the hnadling of the manager's situation be any different?
