  1. They were utterly outclassed by Juve in the Europa this year
  2. Not hard to do. I could name a bunch of LFC staff and some old Valencia contacts, plus one guy used to work for us now at Milan. Not exactly hard. Worth worrying about if they DO start employing them all, I guess, rather than just a story about they are going to. Agreed neither is right, but wanted to say that I agree, I think Pulis is doing as really amazing job, and not afraid to play it to their strengths.
  3. Who gives a f*** whether its the majority of fans or not, rack up a few wins at the start of next season and most'll be back on board.
  4. How the hell is koptalk even still running, let a lone generating revenue?

  11. Maybe he could play upfront in Torres' absence too

  16. Gonna be impossible to buy a blank DVD in london next week
  17. Thought Citeh got a a 'massive' lesson today, they looked a million miles away from being a team anyone will take seriously. Hardly any intelligence in that team, they didn't know how to play the game, or how to beat a piss weak United side. Thought their best player was Vieira, that tells you all you need to know. They are decidedly lucky that Spurs have Chelsea and a tough run in. Unfortunately... I think Mancini probably knows how to make them a better side (and will replace a lot of what Hughes bought).
  18. Coming on the back of your postings about Rafa for the past 9 months that is slightly ironic, no? I recommend raising a wry smile at yourself
  19. Interesting statement from the new man which I'll take mostly at face value. The main part for me that looked a bit off is where he states (paraphrased) "the fans should not worry, I want what they want - what's best for the long term future of LFC." Now that, to me, does not fit alongside the aims of the current owners, which is to extract the maximum possible value from their asset. I don't see how he can possibly make both of those aspects come together in a single buyer bar we get really lucky. Obviously it is also a concern who buys us in the end. No guarantees they will go about things much differently is there? Him being a Chelsea fan etc, that's a nothing issue. Tony Barrett presumably doesn't have any inside info on this, so I think he is just speculating there. Not saying he's wrong, but it isn't some kind of 'exclsuive'.
  20. Think the answer is what happened - they met the strongest team. That Germany squad is amazing, apart from the reserve keeper practically everyone of them was a great player. The Dutch perhaps had 2 or 3 of the 5 best players at the tournament, but their squad was a bit thin in places But I know what you mean, they never even got started really, did they?

  23. "When the inevitable question is asked about why Messi has not played as well for Argentina over the past year as he has for Barcelona, it is tempting to give a one word answer: Xavi." Yeah, or maybe Maradona... but all hail Xavi regardless. I love that quote from the Mail, it's like the perfect microcosm of their whole ethos.
