Either we splashed 5M plus big wages on someone we hadn't scouted, or our scout department failed to pick up on the obvious fact that his legs have gone and he's a shadow of the player he was 4-5 years back. Whichever it was it's a criminal waste of money, and a pretty powerful indictment of the state of LFC in 2010. Five million pounds! Surely we couldn't have spent that on a manager's whim?

All the indications are that there is a bit of a project going on at Dortmund right now, manager and players, and they will do their utmost to keep it together for a crack at the CL next season. Hummels and Subotic are 2 of the biggest prospects at central defence worldwide right now. They know they'll leave Dortmund and get their pay day one day. I cannot see them feeling the need to do it in the summer, especially to a club that may well not have any European football. If we appoint Klopp (unlikely) then maybe. I'm agreeing with the people rating Luiz, and think he is definitely someone we could sign in the summer.
