Seems to have a touch of the Ritchie McCaws' about him. Plays beyond the law and tends to get away with it 90% of the time!
-
Yep agree 100%.
-
Agree with Skrtel and esp Insua. Despite being very unlucky with injuries we have been so poor defensively this season we would struggle to win games despite who we had upfront.
-
cheers

Anybody got any streaming links?

Anyone know what the tot is now? From what I've seen its an overwhelming No. Still by far the best man for the job. He's not perfect but then every manager has their faults.
-
Ok cheers - yeah that rings a bell now.
-
A tad dramatic! Aquiliani is a pro footballer earning around 50K a week. If Rafa say get stripped your on for the last 10 seconds than what he should do.
-
Would be nice to win but obviously CL football for next season is the priority. Also if we don't learn how to defend again we won't win anything. Ever. Again.
-
No I am very concerned with the way we are defending. Is that down to injuries? We look very poor defensively. Its like the players don't understand the system at the moment. Rafa gets credit for being a great tactician. He's needs to sort this out fast.

I was just actually trying to post something similar but you said it far better than I could!

What's the John Gregory thing about again? Re Collymore or something?

This weekends World cup qualifiers
mick replied to Gunga Din 's topic in General Football Discussion
Well done to New Zealand. However, I get the impression that FIFA have fixed this because the world cup is in the southern Hemisphere and South Africa in particualr. Its a big plus for them to have NZ and austrailaia in that world cup. The Oceania qualifying group was: Team MP W D L GF GA Pts New Zealand 6 5 0 1 14 5 15 New Caledonia 6 2 2 2 12 10 8 Fiji 6 2 1 3 8 11 7 Vanuatu 6 1 1 4 5 13 4 So NZ we always going to qualify for a play-off against a third place asia team. Australia were in the Asian qualifying so were going to be one of the favourites for that. Interestingly in 06 the aussies were in Ocenia group: Team Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts Australia 5 4 1 0 21 3 +18 13 Solomon Islands 5 3 1 1 9 6 +3 10 New Zealand 5 3 0 2 17 5 +12 9 Fiji 5 1 1 3 3 10 −7 4 Tahiti 5 1 1 3 2 24 −22 4 Vanuatu 5 1 0 4 5 9 −4 3 Conclusion: FIFA are c**ts.... -
This guy is one of the most overrated players in the world - reading that article how many games did he actually play for the Mancs in his time there. Not sure if he was that crucial to them winning things. He's an honest player that runs around alot and gets stuck in but he's not worth anywhere near the money that's been paid for him. Can't believe he was voted South American footballer of the year three times in a row - I assume that for players that are actually playing in SA at the time? Any time I see club footy over there now (mainly highlights) its look cak so that may explain it.

QUOTE(surf @ Nov 11 2009, 23:42) mancs get 76k every week, is their fan base much larger than ours? I can't see us ever getting near averaging 76K. The simple reason being that doesn't Manchester as a city have a far bigger population than Liverpool? Liverpool (as a smaller city) is also a 2 city club unlike for example Leeds and Newcastle. What was that research based on? If its global fan base than that won't really impact on attendances. A stadium of 60K would be about right
-
Shame - looked pretty good but never really had a long enough spell fit to show what he could really do
-
There going to invite us all to Anfield where we will board coaches, be blindfolded and whisked off to see the new stadium. A few minutes later we'll get off the bus remove the blindfolds and hey presto - a new stadium that looks suspiciously like the old one Oh wait that actually plan B......
-
If you can't do the basics in football i.e. defend than your're pretty much fuvked in terms of competing for trophies.
-
We are defending very poorly. My biggest concern is its not down to individual howlers. We are defending very poorly as a team and the back 4 as a unit. It's like something was changed on the training ground in preseason that hasn't worked but hasn't been dealt with. Our full backs are now good (excellent in the case of GJ) going forward but we are all over the place defensively. Nowt got a clue what it is or how to fix it but we need to and fast.....!!

Ooh..........I feel funny all over.....in a good way
-
Maybe the Vog had a few quid on us to win 1 -0 Yep - that must be it. You have to laugh at Nando in that clip above. You can see he gets excited and wants to celebrate properly with teammates - a quick look left ........eh no and than a quick look right and its eh no again.......! He probably thinking I may as well be sitting between Hicks and Gillet!!
-
yeah nice goal - you can see it here http://www.101greatgoals.com/ Have to say though that is shocking defending at any level of football. No wonder Rangers are getting battered in the CL week in week out.
-
If alberto has only had 20 mins for the reserves there is no way he'll last a hour with the first team! I think he'll get 20 - 25 as sub. I'd love to see Pacheo start behind N'Gog - people say he has quality so this could be the perfect match to see what he can do. I'd give Agger a break and start Kelly and Skrtel at the back.

I'm having a laugh here after reading the sunday papers. In the Times it is reported that Rafa's net spend is £123m and in the sunday Indo Dion Fanning is saying it is less than £80million. Two papers that are suppose to be factual but somehow come up with a huge difference of 45million on basic maths. I want Rafa to stay regardless of what happens this season as I don't think there is anybody better out there available to replace him.
