We’ll need to be better against these. Their midfield absolutely ran all over us for large spells up there last year

10 days for Mac to get fit and Grav to get some sleep.

Or 9 days. It's an amount of days

Yes, famously all babies sort their sleeping out within 2 weeks of being born.

I think we should refuse to play.

This could be the defining factor.

A much tougher test than Bournemouth.

Mine did tbh and god did I make sure other parents knew

Edit it was probably more like 2 months but my point was more he tells the missus and the kid to go downstairs and sleep, I've got a game of football to play in a week

I wouldnt be surprised if Wirtz sat this out based on some of the issues he had last night.

We struggled in 2 out of the 3 games against them with their pressing, and physicality. so whoever plays in midfield especially has their work cut out for them.

I was thinking similar, or put him in on the left

But doubt it, Slot likes his team left alone

The way our defence is playing at the moment it's a good job these haven't got a striker

Interested to see how Slot toughens us up against one of the best midfields in the league, certainly one of the hardest to play away against. Big question whether Wirtz is still one of the three, he's still learning

Yeah I might be tempted to start Grav, MacA and Szobo in this one but I think he’ll stick with Wirtz

Rain was belting down at St James and we were knackered at Wembley. Resting a £110M creative midfield player because the opposition have a difficult midfield raises one or two questions.

Did Wirtz struggle last night?

I wouldn’t be dropping Wirtz. If anything, playing away at a team high on horse might mean there are spaces to exploit.

He struggled with the physicality in the first half. It was clear he needs time to adjust to the pace of the game, and how much time he thinks he has on the ball vs the time he actually has. He was dispossed a few times. He got better in the 2nd half, he also had the most ball recoveries on our team

I'm surprised at that. I thought he'd adapt immediately.

Is this a rumour that’s going around then?  They’re all on the Bobby?

I'm guessing the rhyming slang here is Bobby Ferrin ?
