Ombudsam Posted August 16 Posted August 16 We’ll need to be better against these. Their midfield absolutely ran all over us for large spells up there last year

Mine did tbh and god did I make sure other parents knew Edit it was probably more like 2 months but my point was more he tells the missus and the kid to go downstairs and sleep, I've got a game of football to play in a week Edited August 16 by McBain 1 1
YugoB Posted August 16 Posted August 16 I wouldnt be surprised if Wirtz sat this out based on some of the issues he had last night. We struggled in 2 out of the 3 games against them with their pressing, and physicality. so whoever plays in midfield especially has their work cut out for them.

I was thinking similar, or put him in on the left But doubt it, Slot likes his team left alone
dyl Posted August 16 Posted August 16 (edited) The way our defence is playing at the moment it's a good job these haven't got a striker Edited August 16 by dyl

YugoB Posted August 16 Posted August 16 We got time to iron things out with our shape and timing. Ryan will be back as well.

Big question whether Wirtz is still one of the three, he's still learning

Eiler99 Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Hopefully we don’t have Mac marking Dan Burn on corners. Frimpong it is. 5

Rain was belting down at St James and we were knackered at Wembley. Resting a £110M creative midfield player because the opposition have a difficult midfield raises one or two questions. 1

All true, Im keen on seeing him play, it will do him good to get through another difficult game. 1

Case Posted August 16 Posted August 16 I wouldn’t be dropping Wirtz. If anything, playing away at a team high on horse might mean there are spaces to exploit. 1

It was clear he needs time to adjust to the pace of the game, and how much time he thinks he has on the ball vs the time he actually has. He was dispossed a few times. He got better in the 2nd half, he also had the most ball recoveries on our team 1
