It’s kind of obvious when you look at it. If FSG are buggering off in 12 months what reason do they have to invest in the team? If we don’t qualify for the Champions league next season it makes no difference to them.

We have invested in the team - three £100m+ players in 12 months, plus all the other spend. The problem has been how its been spent. Hughes and Edwards have a lot to answer for - no depth, gaps all over, no personality, no fight, lack of height and strength

Hadn’t even been any speculation about a new DOF. Unless it’s just gonna be that Woodfine lad and he’ll just he announced when Big Moves Hughes f***s off.

If this is it for the window then we are going to need Iraola to perform Klopp level of miracles to challenge anytime in the next few years.

Aside from writing off this season, by the time next summer comes we’ll arguably need to replace Ali, Virgil, Joe Gomez, probably Gakpo and possibly Macca. That’s on top of the fact we are short on the right wing and both full back positions have massive question marks on them.

The overall lack of strategy and planning is unforgivable. To manage to be here from where we were after winning the league is hard to get your head around.

There was always going to need to be a rebuild, but they are dragging out across 3 seasons what should have been done in (max) half that time

Really depressing watching what arsenal have coming from the bench - they can put out 2 different midfields that are better than ours

Yeah, we've 2/3 injuries at the moment and our bench looks like it did in the middle of an injury crisis last season. Our season rests on Tsimikas, Nyoni, McConnell, Endo, Ngumoha, Chiesa, Danns etc being able to offer us legitimate contributions when only Rio and Trey have ever shown any sign of being able to do that.

Hopefully we have somebody at least half competent to oversee our transfer dealings in January.

Bayern Space, mad cat that he is, is linking us to Paris Brunner from Monaco. Lots of stuff about Liverpool being the most mystical destination in the vale of ambrosia  and all that.

Just read that his dad is his agent. His dad is called Norbert.

Does Sarr even play on the right much these days?

Spent most of his career on the left, as I recall. At Palace he became a right-sided inside forward behind Mateta in Glasner's 3-4-2-1 and didn't ever really seem to attack from out wide.

But maybe that's what Iraola wanted, given he often fielded one "narrower" winger with Semenyo wider on the other side. My theory is they wanted both Minteh and Sarr – the former as the right winger, and Sarr as a multi-functional forward who could also rotate in for Isak and Wirtz.

Norbert Brunner is a top quality moniker, sounds like he pioneered some exotic activity like salt flat racing.

Might well be City walked away when we rejected the 75+5m bid.

Or when we realised Palace and Brighton weren't going to budge on their valuations for Sarr and Minteh.

Can’t believe it. I fully expected us to get s*** done. Minteh at least, possibly a Kone. To call it with time to go is insane and a clusterf***.

Hughes and Edwards reputation surely ruined.

Yeah so ruined he’s walking into a ££££££ gig in Saudi

Easiest job in the world being involved in football I reckon. Can be s*** and still get a new job at the drop of a hat. Allardyce, Pulis, Moyes etc are testament to that. Someone somewhere will hire you and sack you within a year and the cycle continues … same with ex players who go into punditry…. Warnock, Dixon, Murphy etc. Talk utter s***e and keep getting work

So fcking annoying.

at least come out and apologise and admit you messed up and your time here was a failure.

he basically secured on player on the market this summer, Barcola. Arauljo was loan, Munoz was release clause, Jacquet signed in summer.

those kids signed may turn out to be great. But we needed a midfielder and a right winger. Plenty were on the market.

couldve signed minteh in July. Then camara later in the window.

if this really is it, the team has the support. Ignore league cup and get behind the team, we still got a solid squad. But title is a stretch.

If this is it, we’ve got a really good attack, a dysfunctional midfield and a defence that will be dragged down by the bird-brains at full back.

Up the Reds and f*ck off FSG.
